No winch, but a long strap would get them out of the pond when they fell through the ice. Sometimes we had to hook 2 trucks together to pull the third out. Have fun while you can!👍

i got a 79 cheyenne short box full option truck 4x4 with Quadro traction with only 35,000 miles on it 100% stock 400/400 turbo best part i got it free because it did not run all it needed was a new fuel pump and carb cleaned. but i also have a bunch of rust free pu's with no engines or trans just good clean bodies since i got the short box now i am not going to build one like i was going to do. i all ready have a street truck a 68 chevy with a stroke 454 in it with a 02xx trans so no need to build a street truck out of the square body trucks. i do have lots of other projects to work on like my next is a 79 z28 rs t top camaro have all the parts for it plus 2 extra z28 camaros so i can build a perfect body for it no dings

As a 55 year old, life long mechanic and overall "car guy" I've owned many vehicles. One thing Ive had alot of experience with but never actually owned is a square body Chevrolet. I've had my hands on them since I was single digits old but have never actually owned one of my own. I'm ashamed of the fact that I don't currently own a pickup truck of any kind, never thought that would happen but here it is June of 2024 and if I have to move anything at all I got to call somebody who does have a truck. My last truck got seized in a property seizure after being sued over getting ripped off on a property deal gone wrong. Such a long stupid story and an attorney keeps telling me I'm supposed to be getting back my 2002 Duramax crew cab short bix back but I will believe it when I see it. Anyway, with all that said, for quite some time I've wanted a clean square body Chevrolet with a vintage 1973 grille. Ideally it would be a K30 and my dream is to power it with one of the many 455 Oldsmobile powerplants I currently own. For me the dream is to build a "perfect" off road and capable tow vehicle with all the classic "good stuff" like a divorced cast iron transfer case 4x4 with a manual trans. When completed it will be capable of towing 15k with ease, shake down 18mpg unloaded and at least 10mpg hauling the weight. A modern efi system would help with that goal. Parts availability should be of relative ease and parts failure should be far and few in between. Currently it's just a dream. Being disabled doesn't help matters one bit...but if there is one thing a man can have and that is a dream.
