He was the most musical of all rappers back then. Changing direction after every breath. Totally unpredictable like a trumpet player. Biggie (the sponge) used that tactic after a few songs. After “Juicy.” Mack invented that. Rappers were predictable before and after that. The original “Flava in ya ear” broke new ground. Rap came up! Cats added extra technique to their arsenal. Mack had ngas rappin different. Puff knew what he was doing when he signed Mack. His instincts were correct. But gangsta ruled the day and creatives like Mack got canceled.

Amazing track. People knock puff but his A & R skills, marketing, vision, producer selection, video direction and styling was second to none, nothing short of incredible. This early bad boy era he was only around 23 leading a major label. Its his industry business integrity that comes into question.
