You could see Chad’s wheels spinning, wondering how he could get a few of those back to Canning. Every time he would look back at Jolene with that puppy dog, little kid look saying with his eyes, “can I get it mommy”? Asking for permission. I bet, I bet he goes back to buy a couple of those cars and to get a free camper since his trip got screwed.

Chad & Jolene thank you for part 2 of the tour it is amazing how much Ross has! I really enjoyed walking through with you two and Ross. Love listening to the stories & history of the cars and how he aquired them, I could listen for hours thank you Ross! Wondering where things are at with you two at this point if you are still in Vancouver, headed home, or heading for Australia at this point? I hope things are working out for you!

Building a 37 Plymouth 4 door at the moment running a 318ci engine and 904 transmission. Using Mitsubishi l300 front suspension to replace solid axle and putting the short leafs from front to the rear and valiant differential. Perfect picnic car for family and friends
@davejobe628211 ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure that Tornado has the gears in the Transmission that was one year only and had a limited slip which was very uncommon for a front wheel drive Back in the 70s we used that engine and trans axel to build sand drag cars and dune buggies . I believe it has the high compression 425 big block. Great car also 😎👍
@Gas_n_Gears11 ай бұрын
It looked like a '66, best looking Tornado they built, the newer models became too gaudy. The '66 has one of the best steering wheels ever, '69 I think they flattened it. Don't know about the '66 transmission but the later ones had a chain inside. I mulched the transmission out of an Olds like the white one, reverse is on the bottom of the shift sequence. Edit: I was mistaken, the best looking steering wheel was on the '61 Olds Starfire, and the '61 Dynamic 88 in the video.

Watching Ross go down memory lane with his cars is bittersweet, knowing he will never see 1/2 or more of this collection get done ...
@russellstewart541410 ай бұрын
May never see one car finished, sadly this is common with car collectors 100 cars and 101 projects. These barns full of cars left to rot away slowly and sometimes the families just see it all as a burden of junk. Concentrate on 1 or 2 and enjoy your life

My first car I built was a 1968 Toyota 4 door. I don't mind four doors fixed up right they can look just as good as a 2 door. It's easier to get to the back seat of a 4 door to put stuff in, just like people using a SUV for hauling stuff they open the back door to put stuff in the back seat. 4 door wagons and such I know the 2 door wagons are more desirable because there are less made. The reason they sold more 4 doors because back then people were raising bigger families that meant hauling more stuff in the automobile. I know this because my parent's had a large family and own a few wagons then in the 70's the van craze came out. Pop's bought a van and fixed the inside up with shag carpet and cool bench seats, he had some cool eagle wing window's installed in his van on the side's of the van. I do have picture's of it.

I had a feeling Ross, you had a bunch of gems elsewhere, other than your home. I didn't know you had three buildings full of them. You were smart fella to search them out when the prices were right. I use to own a 66 Toronado in mint condition sold it after the cv joints wore out, cost five hundred bucks to one cv joint and there's four of them. Not and that was without labor back in the early mid 80's. Miss that car though that thing was fast, most comfortable car you will ever drive. Got a 455 under the hood.

That is incredible. I wonder how many times we drive by a large old building and don't realize it's filled with duke ass old cars. Probably way more than we think.

it almost at the some point of a hoarder ... there is a line between collector and a hoarder ... a collector has plans of attack, hoarders collect without any intent of getting them to completion. At least they are not rotting in a back yard ... hope he gets them sold / fixed up
