Glad Jolene you are a task master. Glad Chad has taught us all the value of 40/80/220/400 and why to use Guide Coat and primer. Real eye opener for us neophytes. I personally love his fabrications and creativety. That’s what I watch the show for. Thank you.

I have learned so much watching this series, thanks Chad & Jolene ! As a soon to be retired 31 years as a cop I plan on spending my free time in the garage and your videos have helped instill confidence in me to tackle these projects. BTW I actually used one of the life hacks Chad showed where he poked a hole in the top of the paint can to drain the paint back into the can. Lol

The cars on his TV show were wavy. I assumed it was just due to rushed timelines and budget limitations not allowing him to block them properly. Watching him do this Jag I'm worried it will be wavy too. Hopefully I am wrong.

@@TheInsaneShecklador Possibly, and I wish Chad all the luck and quality in the world. He is a hard worker. IMO, It takes the same amount of material , time and energy to sand panels with fingers as it does with a block. Blocks generally make flat planes...fingers create the probability of ripples & valleys. Fingers are usually used in a rush to save time, but in the long run, it's a false economy.

I have a question about refinishing small areas on a car. My whole life I've bought beater cars. Anything with a good body that maybe needed engine or transmission work. I did some body work in the late 70's and painted a little. Repair it myself and drive it till the unibody wouldn't let you get the front end aligned anymore. I'm wore out now and but still love my beater cars. I want to try doing body work a little at a time and try to prime and paint with a brush, roller, and as little spray as possible. I'm not physically able to do a lot at one time. Could you do a video or two on this topic? Thanks. I've been watching at least a video a day since you finding your channel. Awesome work you two.

You crack me up. I first watched you demonstrate sanding body filler, etc. on her car . I am going to say this and take no offence. I thought how annoying. If you said 40 & 80 once, you said it 1k times. I watched the whole thing and a few more for entertainment mostly. It was then I realized. You actually remind me of me trying to teach what I love. Turns out, I also realized it is exactly me, because I am so passionate about what I do. You have a great personality, humorous too. I have made a few lines disappear along the way myself.lol I've built custom Harleys for over 30 years. Started just doing big engines before the whole world started producing them. I think everyone who polishes metal should start with stainless steel and everyone who wants to ride should start with a kick start only stroker. I have done everything there is on a bike including paint, powder coat, machine shop, I have,it all. I will be using what you taught with 40 80 grit. I almost messaged you asking if you were certain on grits as it seemed you weren't serious enough about 40 & 80. ( joking, seriously). I have to redo my 64 GTO. I will also add if you are always that good to your lady, a Hell of a lot of men could use a lesson on the subject. So, yes, I judged before I understood your personality. For that I apologize and admit how wrong I was and why we shouldn't judge folks. Thank you for your videos, I'm glad I happened on to you. It's pretty neat to find passionate people doing what they love. Peace to you and yours. Scotty

The paint I got says to sand with 400 grit but I used 800 on it and 1,000 grit I am gonna start using a electric sander in future the air compressor got goes out of air fast is 26 gallon gallon 5 hp about 5.4-5.6 cfm I will use the air spray gun with it just got new spray guns Ronpeng got 3 but still waiting for last one a 1.4 which probably be coming within next two weeks. I tried using a electric spray gun before but it didn't last long for me messed it up I was using epoxy primer though. Now got a 1500 watt infrared heater so could use that to dry paint faster.

Chad. I enjoy your show. I first found you on the Motortrend TV channel, months ago, where you built an old style racecar. Regrettably, they only had one show from you, so I did a search for you on KZbin. Many years ago, when I did my own body work, and before guide coat was known, I used the finish paint color as a guide coat. I also discovered the benefit of block sanding, :). So, I'm surprised that you are using your hands and the DA to finish smoothing the surface. Is it possible to get a flat, no ripple, finish, especially on the surfaces on which you have used your hand to back the sandpaper? On the Bugatti. Are you having seconds thoughts on the width of the front fenders? They look too wide for the narrow tires?
