I totally agree. I cannot remember ever enjoying a televivized historical drama (melodrama??) so much. I don't understand Danish...so I like to watch it alone, often stopping to re-read the English subtitles, study the character's faces, the gorgeous interior sets, the clothes...and last, but not least, the beautiful piano accompanied singing by Jens Jacob Tychsen. (The pianist and the arrangements are AMAZING~~~ AAAA++++) Also, it is so fun to hear him sing the American songbook and some jazz tines (songs by Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, etc.) I studied history...(now an international lawyer)...and fam fascinated to see how they portray the impact of of so many changes -political upheaval and social (Nazi Germany WWII tragedies, the increasing independence of women, manners, swimwear fashions). I am only on Season 5...and honestly I SAVOR each episode. I am sure I will watch the entire thing again and again. LOVE the interior set designs--that blue and white hallway with the Victorian window transoms. The food!! The fact that they do take off the summer--such a great thing to do!! The plot, the music, and of course, the superb acting and writing. SO WELL DONE!! AAAA++++ (I enjoy it more than Downton Abbey or the Crown...and it's not even in English). Thank God they use subtitles and not English voice overs. (Hate the English voice overs!!! Keep the original language...and they did.) They should win awards in every single category.

One of the most entertaining shows you can watch from Europe. I watch most shows from Walter Presents and despite having sub-titles Hollywood can't compete with plots or acting. The variety is quite extensive. Seaside Hotel leaves you wanting more and more.

I love this series and I can catch a bit of the story direction even without Danish. But I will have to wait until Amazon Prime gets it. Soon, I hope. I am up to Season 6-twice, actually. Tak!

I love it too! Why couldn't Prime include the final season? So cruel. I'm going all over the net only to find snippets. Before I didn't realize how many Danish words are in the English language.

@@herrickinman9303 Its a "small" production team. They were under a lot of delays with corona getting season 9 done. So they needed the time out to get the last season right. But we will probably get 8 episodes in 2024.

PBS SoCal has 9 seasons! I binge-watched all of them this month. Season 9 ended with episode 5.
