When Andrew was talking about not being able to cry at a funeral, I could identify. I have never been able to truly express my grief at a funeral. The closest experience I had was when my friend told me that his cancer was too far along to be dealt with and that we had to wait for him to die. That was a pain that I could express to the person I was losing. I am glad that I was able to have all of those talks with my buddy before he went.

Definitely intentional, you don't just buy or have yellow/orange XLR cords (which are used to plug the mics into whatever recording setup) without buying them specifically, almost all of them sold are just black
