Badland MX57 fitted to Traxxas XRT - is it worth doing?

I put the MX 57s on my XRT after one of the stock tires Foam separated leaving it deformed and out of balance. Half wore out the stock tire was useless on most surfaces. The Mx 57 has replaceable wheel hexes, A plus not having to worry about stripping one out. They are also 4 oz heavier per tire adding a lot of unsprung weight. First run and stripped the stock servo gears. With the added height of the tire it gives more ground clearance and more suspension travel before chassis slap making the xrt more monster truck like. I don’t regret buying the Mx 57s but I do miss the light nibble truggy like handling the stock tire provides. I would love to see proline make a tire wheel the same dimensions as stock.

Still running standard on the red XRT and Badlands on the blue truck - much different handling characteristics

Just kept standard weight diff oil but worth checking it as stock they usually are under filled

Just got an XRT and been enjoying your videos. I bought a set of Sledgehammers for it but yet to run them, have you tried them at all? Kinda thinking I should have got the MX57’s now though and haven’t actually received the sledgehammers yet so could always return them and get the prolines instead. What you reckon?

We have seen other people run them, but not tried them ourselves. However we didn't like the smaller Sledghammers that came with our Sledges - as they ballooned horrendously and made racing really difficult. Perhaps it depends what you are doing with the truck...

@@TeamRC3D I will be jumping it but not massive Talbot style sends! I’d like the MX57’s with removable hubs really but no stock in the UK. Guess I’ll stick with the Sledgehammers for now and see how I get on with them 👍🏻

They would probably be good for jumping as i would expect the ballooning would give air control. 👍🏼

Do you know what is the different between Pro line badlands mx57 pro10198-11 and Pro line badlands mx57 PRO10198-10 ? Which one has a belt and better? Because it is different only number.

Neither has a belt - the only difference is that the newer (and more expensive) version has a removable hex. 👍🏼
