Thank you! Black is the best color to do this contrast with although red does pop quite a bit as well. Most other colors are less contrasting but it does still create a gorgeous "ghosted" effect. The darker the color, the more the contrast usually

@@DesertDIY my only problem is a lot of the products that YOU use I don't think they're sold in Canada...at least not where I live. I've never seen the wax stuff you use or any Waverley products. I'm not in a big city so many other store carry them..

And you complain about the dry heat...I've spray painted metal that's taken 4 days to dry so...it may do damage to the wood but it's a lot faster & easier than living in a snowy ( 5 mths) or wet & cold environment (10 months). Only July & parts of August are decent.

It is not important to use the same brands as me, just the same type of material. If I'm using a brand of chalk paint you don't have in Canada, then there will be a comparable brand chalk paint sold in your stores that you could use instead. Focus more on the type of product meaning is it water based or oil based, is it chalk paint or acrylic, is it matte or glossy, etc. My videos are meant to inspire others to make things, not necessarily copy the steps exactly. I am not sure if you are able to shop my products in my Amazon store from Canada. It seems as though we have the opposite problem with our climates. You have winter most of the year and we have have super hot dry Temps most of the year. Although we do still get snow every winter. Living in any place with such extremes like we do will make it challenging. We just have to be creative and never let furniture live outside

@@DesertDIY I'll have to keep looking at other stores but I have looked in the 2 main hardware type stores in my area & Ive seen chalk paint but never the kind of wax product I see a lot of US DIYers using. We have urethane/varnishes, stains, metal paints, oils but I've yet to see a wax for furniture. Nothing even close to what you've been using.
