Badminton deceptions - Backhand return in doubles, learn it here. This deception return in the doubles is a great weapon to get easy points. Use this backhand deception return in the right field when returning the serve.
The backhand return in doubles is a good choice to do, as you can add a lot of finger power to the shot. In this tutorial I show you how to add deceptions to this cool return.

Aloha Coach Thomas, during covid I have been working on mastering different strokes. It will be fun practicing these deceptions. Not a real advocate of these types of shots but I have time now in lock down, so it will be fun to practice. Thanks for the lesson. It will be fun to use on my opponents. You are the best. Take care and stay safe.

Awesome tutorial! Maybe because it's a more advanced shot to make it seems quite tricky to execute

We've been playing badminton last month but now, we've stop, because we don't have enough materials and equipment, i know you have a very kind heart, we accept anything that you want to give to us, specially shuttles. Weved struggling to buy some shuttles, it's very expensive here in my province

Argh! This is the second video in a week (Badminton Insight) showing this return 😁 It's one of my favourites but after all these years I still can't do it in a game - I think it's a confidence thing! Edit: Quick question, Thomas - how much do you pre-plan your return before the serve is delivered or is it 100% instinct?
@tonp2917
@tonp2917 3 жыл бұрын
I do not think it can be pre planned. You have to have some sort of repertoire of returns to fit all sort of services. You do not know for sure if it will be a flickservice, one on your fore- or backhand. So if you can make this return it only depends on the opponents service, the position they are on the field and the quickness of the front standing opponent because if they know the drill they can hit your shuttlereturn with a very quick hit. So learn to give several returns and use it now and then.
@fijtips112
@fijtips112 3 жыл бұрын
@@tonp2917 of course you have to adapt to the serve that's delivered, but you can also have a preference for your return e.g. if you've spotted a weak area that you want to exploit. I was just curious to know how much Thomas does this 😉
@BadmintonFamly
@BadmintonFamly 3 жыл бұрын
Yes you are correct I also have a return in mind and usually also agrees with my partner what i am doing. Off course if a totally different serves comes I must adapt for sure. But in many cases it is possible to hit the corner you are aiming for no matter where the serve is being placed.. 😃
@fijtips112
@fijtips112 3 жыл бұрын
@@BadmintonFamly Thanks, Thomas, it's very interesting to know how professionals think! I tend to pre-plan a return but have often wondered if I'm correct in doing so - I feel better about it now 🙂 Obviously serves are discussed with a partner but I didn't realise returns were often discussed too!

I have found that when returning the serve from a below-the-net position, it's better to gently guide this shot just past the front player instead of driving it to the rear of the court.
@BadmintonFamly
@BadmintonFamly 3 жыл бұрын
Yes also a good choice but tricky to get it pass the netplayer if you dont add speed but yes it can be done also👌🏻
