From what DMS was saying, it sounded like you were slowly turning until you heard the enemy in the center of your screen. I wonder if it would be more effective, with regards to getting a better sense of the soundstage, to have the aimer try to flick towards the origin of the noise. Then, the aimer could also adjust from the faster motion after judging the initial movement.

Hey Badseed Tech, happy to see Maxwell's pop up few times, I also exchanged quite a few ones and the level of audio you get in Maxwell is unmatched from what you get from competitors. Is indeed a little heavy, but you get used to it after few days, really. Not that big of an issue. The software is working well, absolutely no issues with them whatsoever! I do recommend them as well. They work very well for music, movies and gaming! I was hoping to see some good feedback from Crin but that left me without a comment :)), I wouldn't follow his friend's advice at all. If you care about audio, study a little bit more the market and get something better than just "whatever you like" :)

The Yeti Nano is great when paired with IEMs. Essentially, it has a pass-through 3.5mm headphone jack plugged into the base of the Yeti Nano, meaning you get an IEM with your preferred tuning and a good sounding microphone so you are crystal clear and you hear your peeps well.

thanks @BADSEEDTECH, cause of your recommendations, I sprung for the Audeze Maxwells about 5-6 months ago.... even if your not an audiophile you can definitely hear the sound difference. I love my punchy metal music (devil-driver, tool, and lamb of god) and I play COD and HellDivers 2... this headset is by far the best sound quality I've found. HOWEVER! **** the clamp on the left cheek is brutal to the point i had to get on reddit and look up possible solutions for what to do. i found that if your pull GENTLY the headset apart to straighten them GENTLY you can alleviate a lot of that south paw you get after long sessions. if you wanna know what im talking about press your thumb between your cheek bone and your ear idk what they need to do to fix this but it's like the headset's pads are too bulky, i even got the wicked ear pads for it with the cooling. they help a lot. I just don't believe the ear pads need to be as thick, could be a design flaw but the drivers are hands down, amazing.

The most immersive headset I ever used was the Audeze Mobius. The 3D Head Tracking was amazingly accurate. It took the game audio out of your forehead and onto the screen. Sounds in the distance were really realistic. Birds flying over your head make you duck out of the way. It was as close to speaker surround sound as I have ever heard. It wish it was a little more comfortable and less buggy. Someday I hope someone does that 3D Head tracking just as well!

i've been using the audio technica ad1000x for over 8 years and they still freak me out with how open and immersive they are, i also got a sub woofer at some point and the amount of times i take my headphones off to make sure the sound wasnt in my house is crazy i did recently get into iems and i get the hype, you just hear everything, even though its a lot harder for me to pin point the locations of the sounds, great for games like cs or valorant but not my favorite for something like tarkov my next purchase is probably going to be the new dusk iem, first dip into multi driver iems and nicer iems in general, right now im using the starfields which are nice but im noticing a lot of "could be better" things about them

I have never had an "high end" headphone I know it's 400 but I am using Razer blackshark V2 so yeah you know what kind of stuff i am coming from 😅😂 My problem is, for single player games it's fine whatever I like it with a bit of my own EQ but in FPS I can't hear exactly where the enemies come from.

I'm realizing now that the previous video is what set me on my path as a budding audiophile. I didn't know who anyone in the video was and I was looking to upgrade from a Logitech headset. Ended up getting a PC37x for me and a PC38x for my wife. And then an H6 pro to have a closed-back option. Since then I've upgraded my tv from a soundbar to a decent 2.1 setup, and just got the Truthear Zero IEMs. All of these sound so much better than what I was used to - without costing more!

I am not an audiophile, but a gamer. My previous headphones which is more affordable was the DT880 250 Ohm. Now I use the DT1990Pro, which is a straight upgrade from the DT880. For a mic I use the Modmic5 for a long time now. There is also a reason I don't use any headphones/mics with any kind on knob or dial or button, they tend to fail very early on. I had ALL! mics and headphones/headsets fail on the volume dial/mute switch (including the Modmic5, but that switch was optional), making them near unuseable after just 1-2 years. (especially Sennheiser, used many of their gaming headsets back in the day). And the funny thing is, I barely even used these dials/switches. I use the windows volume/mutes. And I do care for my headphones. I place them either on my head or on the stand and thats it. No throwing or placing them down hard. Bluetooth headphones also have some lag in them, but some people just can't notice it.

Like many (gettng) old gamer, I cant use IEM for long period of time, even I have many IEMs on my desk. Monk Plus sound is warm, laid back and relaxing. It's may not good for gaming, but it so comfortable to wear and listen to. If I would rec, for budget; SHP9500, KSC75, Earpod (no joke), Blon BL03, Tin T2 (OG ver), Truthear Crin Red, IE200. Key point of success in Competitive Game; Get used to the gears and practice with it. Simple. *I use Monk Plus and get "ACE" in Valorant multiple times (even i dont play it anymore)

I have had really good luck with 660S which is close-sounding but excellent sound separation and accuracy, and the Hifiman Ananda Nanos, which offer more bass/subbass and a bigger soundstage while still having excellent accuracy. I noticed a lot of options with bigger soundstage will not have the pinpoint accuracy and so in some games like Valorant it will become a bit vague exactly where someone is, even if you have a general idea of the direction.

Though I like your videos either way, I would have liked to introduce more people from gaming world. I really like gadgetry ( a good addition), but also guys like fresh reviews , optiumtech and others that are more in this world , would have been also insightful. Maybe for a next video.

i still have my first pair of Sennheiser HD 555's, the first pair of decent headphones I ever bought. must be close to 15 years old now, they still work like they did on day 1, still using them. i've had 2 other pairs of more modern gaming headsets in that time which have both broken with use, they didnt last long maybe lasting a year or so. build quality is extremely important

I use the Epos 370, I got the og version, I heard there are a lot of issues with newer versions. I am very happy with them and wireless for gaming was a big deal to me. Fold up mic is great and sound quality apparently is good for a wireless headset, idk, I prefer my wired akg collection for music. Only downside is wireless connection is weak if u get far from the dongle or have the dongle far under ur desk or something.

Sorry for my english, I speak french. Thanks for the good content! But again it’s practically all about multiplayer. Nothing about solo gaming except “more bass for cinematic immersion”. What about an analysis of timbral accuracy of wind, water, voices and all the amazing sounds of solo games and movies. And no explanation of what type of binaural process is used, I guess it’s the binaural audio built in the FPS games and the output is 2 channel PCM ? This information is in clear correlation of soundstage rendition in games. So here is my take on Solo gaming/movies : Best binaural process : SoundblasterX G6 which takes the dolby digital content and converts it to binaural. I didn’t try the Smyth realiser (for obvious reason $) but I am practically sure it will create the same illusion of speakers as the new G7. I tried the G7 new mode but even if it was a perfect simulation of speakers (which it is not), it’s not as good for immersion as the old mode of the G6 because every scene will sound like speakers in a room even if you are outdoors in the game. The G6 binaural virtualisation is more immersive because it just puts the dolby digital spots all around you at about 1m with no big reverberation, so outside sounds like outside and inside like inside. And after testing the same mode available in the G7 I didn’t get the same rear cue accuracy as in the G6, placebo or some changes in the process ? Best headphone/iem (with EQ and calm environment) : HD600 with added bass (30hz 4db 0.5Q, and small tweaks in the treble based on sound sweeps). I have the 800s, Hifiman sundara, akg k702, k371, SRH440, sundara closed, moondrop variations, blessing 2, Truthear hexa, red, ie200, U12t, and around 10 other headphones/iems, and of course all the things I tried in stores. I tried and tried and tried to get the same timbral accuracy in the 800s as in the HD600 with EQ but I still don’t manage to do it. I don’t use the dspears anymore because I found way better inter-headphones accuracy using the in ear mic of Sound Professionals. I cut the hook to put the mic even closer to blocking ear entrance. Best treble peaks accuracy I ever had that correlates with sound sweeps. HD800s has better soundstage and imaging than the HD600 but it’s not a huge difference, most of the spatialisation work is done by the G6. And as I value timbre over anything (I tend to walk a lot in games just to immerse myself in the environment/story), HD600 (and probably its brother 6XX/650) is always a reminder of natural/accurate sound. Best headphone/iem (no EQ, noisy environment) : Truthear Hexa (for timbral accuracy) or Moondrop Variations (more unrealistic subbass on this one but more soundstage due to the harman dip in the midbass/low mids. And for really noisy environment (air conditioner, family), put the XM4 noise canceling headphone around it. I didn’t find any closed back able to rival the clean frequency response of in-ears. It looks like the new Focal Azurys is the real new closed HD600. I am egger to try both HD620s and Azurys ! And there is the whole chain : - PS5 in 5.1 or 7.1 dolby digital mode to - HDMI Extracteur (for no latency in audio) to - G6 (to get excellent binaural audio in any dolby digital game at least for my HRTF) to - Minidsp Flex (to get a precise 20 band equalizer) to - Mojo 2 (to get good DAC and enough power) to - HD600 Have a nice day !

honestly I feel like good sound in terms of media you consume and good sound in terms of competitive games are very very different. it depends on the game of course but rule of thumb is the most important thing to look for in a headphone from a competitive standpoint is NOT footsteps or soundstage (unless you’re playing a soundwhore game like siege) because if you are good at the game you play you will have proper map awareness and it will give you no advantage if you’re GOOD what you should look for is not only seperation but also muting (in a fast paced game) the advantage a good headphone should give you is being able to have clearer audio for utility (most shooters) and abilities (hero shooters) so that you can have a proper understanding of what’s going on and that you can act faster on an opportunity (overwatch example: being able to tell clearly when ana has used her sleep dart without seeing it and without her voiceline triggering is an advantage. knowing where the ana is based off of her footsteps isnt and hearing gunshots LOUDER is just literal noise pollution) so unless you’re actually good you shouldn’t care about an advantage and your idea of an advantage in games is probably flawed so just go with something comfortable that suits you in terms of sound profile and features. the gsp 600’s are the best headphones for me in game but in any scenario that isn’t competitive I use either my thieaudio ghosts because they just suit me very well and my crusher ANC2 because they’re FUN. find a headphone that suits you and your usecase instead of focusing on soundstage and footsteps and all of that because you can hear footsteps accurately enough out of any headphone that isn’t muddy or SHIT

The Sennheiser 800s is my go to because of the sound stage. However what got me in the world of headphones was the Sennheiser HD 700 which also has an amazing sound stage, and if you run an EQ (like APO) you can fix the infamous tuning, these can be bought used for around $300 to $500 US on the second hand market. They are also a really good headphone for hip hop/trap/etc

I use ZMF Aeolus, HD6xx, and DCA Closed X. For IEMs I use either the Yanyin Mahina or the Etymotic ER2XR. I would recommend the Moondrop Variations also, They are amazing I regret selling mine. But yeah. Nothing beats my ZMF. LOVE THEM. I use the headphones on my desktop with a JDS El Amp 2 and El Dac 2 (with custom hollow knight and dark souls engraving that's free!), and I use my IEMs with my steam deck OLED.

Audeze Maxwell is so fudging good! They make my Nova pro wireless sound hollow in comparison. The image is wider on Nova Pro but not by enough. The Maxwell really sounds very close to my HTA9/SW5 surround system so maybe that's why I love them so much. Buy them steal them, they are fire!

last time i was honestly kinda pissed nobody talked about 3d audio or 7.1, spacial whatever you want to call it . its honestly the best feature when it comes to modern gaming the ability to hear where your enemies or parts of the game are is phenomenal and a bit wider footsteps are one of many key things but if you cant get a direction to those steps they might as well be useless and not all footsteps in games sound the same either so eq is a must with neutral sound for tuning. tho it would be unfair to not state i have really good hearing which is something that you just get by paying attention to sound 24/7 irl.

I usually look for headphones/IEMs with a "flat" response. For gaming, I use both my HD560S and Moondrop Blessing 2 with a cable that has an integrated mic, and they really work well for me. They're immersive in games like Starfield and have great imaging in Call of Duty.

After looking at Audeze Maxwell videos for over six months, including BADSEED's video, my wife ordered me some from Crutchfield. While they do sound incredible, both ear cups now make the annoying scratchy sound if I touch the cups or move my head. It all started the moment I hit both my ear cups lightly out of frustration when the USB CONNECTED voice came over at 5X the volume of what I was listening to. It made me jump and gave me adrenaline. I did find the voice volume setting in the app after that and lowered it significantly but it deserved a good smacking for scaring me. Ever since that moment they have the very well documented (on forums) annoying scratchy sound. They still work and sound great....as long as I don't touch the ear cups or move at all which is kind of NUTS to me for $330 with tax. I did purchase then return the Steel series top of the line headphones first: -their pc audio app did all kinds of bizarre things -the ear cups were just too small -the built in noise cancelling mic was too close to my ears -ear cups made my ears over heat

I'm still gaming on my semi-open-back Superlux HD681 headphones + Antlion Modmic after watching Tek Syndicate's video about 8 years ago. My only complaint is the elastic headband cords wore out, but my head is so large that this is irrelevant. Even the ear pads are still in like-new condition, in spite of my heavy 5-o'clock shadow rubbing against them all the time. I have since tried the SHP9500 and the HyperX Cloud Alpha, but neither of them compare for me.

What you use...well, that depends on what I'm about. I no longer use headphones all that much. I don't need the coms anymore, so I don't typically bother. When I do need them, my old Audiotechnica ADG700s get the nod. Back up for them, or when I just want open cans are the Philips X2HR. The new Senn 490PRO tempts me mightily, but not much use for it at present. Closed cans are the Beyerdynamic DT177X for isolation or fiddling with bluetooth via the Quedelix5K and a balanced cable. Everything with detachable cables gets Hart modular cables.
