'the only airliner louder than the BAC 1-11 was the Concorde. That's not a complaint. I love jet noise. 👍✈

That 1-11was ZE 433 not 443 as in the title. I flew in a few airline 1-11s including my first airliner flight in a Court Line 1-11 to Madrid in 73.

I notice wg cdr Dennis stangroom on this video. He still flies gliders at the Wiltshire gliding club.

He was the pilot on one of my few trips on XX105 in 1983, we went up to drop someone off at Leuchars, then back down over the Lake District. Some lucky buggers got flights on the Hawk. An RAE Devon was the first aircraft I ever flew on.
