Most of the time Daehyun has to not only sing live but do it whilst having strenuous choreo. He has plenty of control and a powerhouse for vocals. He has a wider range and multi pitches, can reach 8...To me singing live all the time and hitting those high notes constantly with stability is an achievement. Even when he is sick or has been hospitalized people cannot really tell. That is the powerhouse Jung Daehyun embodies. 👑 There are better footage out there that capture his true essence. Daehyun is like a chameleon. His voice suits Jazz, R&B, Rock, Hip Hop just to name a few. His voice can adapt from low to high, from a ballad to Metal. He is just well rounded all around. Any genre will do! x) Daehyun all day everyday with or without birthday cake! lol 💚

it because no one can sing THAT high in BAP. youngjae was baritone, so he didn't and it causing daehyun always sing anything above A4 in belting. it different with EXO which have 3 members who can sing higher than A4 in belting notes. sorry for my bad english, but i wish you understand that point.

i went to see both group live. the biggest difference is stability. daehyun did them all live and it was even better than the recording while baekhyun's voice is a lot more unstable but they are both very talented

Clearly, Daehyun's the best! (he has, in my humble opinion, one of the most strongest vocal techniques in the history of K-pop, not gonna lie, he's an OUTSTANDING performer and his voice is like from another galaxy). And actually I think that Baek is not even the best singer of EXO lol (Chen is). However, Byun Baekhyun is still my favorite male k-pop singer ^^ most of all because of his voice texture, which is delicious, and his captivating, heart-stealing performance, and the veins on his neck when he's belting a high note, and... and... dat *frickin* note at the end of the El Dorado... just... damn... praise the good Lord for Baekhyun's vocals. Amen.

Edgar Cárdenas I don't think you got my point -.- I'm speaking about vocal technique and the vocal security that the singer gives to the public when he sings, which is, in my opinion, a very (if not the most) important skill of a performer. I'm not saying that Baekhyun's voice is weak (he has a God given voice, strong as hell and, like I said, he's my favorite k-pop singer), but Daehyun's better. Daehyun totally got it. His singing clearly better than Beakhunnie. His high note just kill us but Beakhyunnie is my bias and I think that his voice just so sweet. His voice is soft and emotional, then his voice is better for ballads. His voice isn't powerful at all if we compare with Daehyun x) But still love BK~ ♥

From the clip, idk but since I have heard more live recordings of Daehyun, he is most consistent. I like both voices but my #baby Daehyun wins in this one b/c his voice is better sustained and clear in his upper register just like the recordings for the most part. Baekhyun has more range and sounds amazing recorded, but he is not good at holding notes for a long time live unless he goes into a run (he cannot just hold the note) compared to Dae who was belting much more in this vid than Baekhyun. That's probably why I think DO or Chen is the better vocalist in EXO. But of course that's just my opinion.

As both Baby and Exo-Lover, I'll have to say Daehyun wins this. Both have powerful voices but Dae's is more consistent and, for me, charismatic. His is the voice that you won't think can go higher but it really can. BAP's live performances also prove that, especially ones without MR. Baek can reach the notes but he can't really prolong them like Dae can. And some of the samples given, Chen was singing with him so, yeah. But the funny thing about this is that their son has a very deep voice (Taehyung - BTS) which is in contrast to their very high notes. *Well, the father should be more dominant anyway xD*

Why?~ Baekhyun is indeed more famous than Daehyun, but Daehyun's vocals and high notes are not better than Baekhyun's. SM also actually is the only company that cares about singing technique and consistently has main vocalists with at least some degree of skill, whereas most others just ...don't. Daehyun isn't better, they're kind of basically even. Kurdish July Right now you're talking about two different things. First, no it's okay! You can like Daehyun's voice more, that's totally fine. I don't mind if you do, but liking someone's voice more than someone else's doesn't make the other person better. I like Tiffany's voice more than I like Ailee's voice, but God knows Tiffany isn't better than Ailee at singing. As for hitting high notes well, no not really. Both of them suck at it, no offense. But any note above A4 for Daehyun AND Baekhyun is bad, strained, whiny, high larynx, tight throat, poorly supported and unevenly mixed. Same for Changmin, Daehyun and Baekhyun are actually much better vocalists than Changmin is. Changmin can hit high notes, right, that's true. But screaming high notes doesn't make you a good vocalist.

No no, the notes are from the piano and used for the vocal ranges of everybody lol, and I mean the recorded notes they has, I'm not biased BK, to be honest I rather Daehyun but lets be objetive. Daehyun isn't the only one who can go high as Changmin, however usually any male singer can go higher than G#4 with appropiate technique and actually Kyuhyun from Super Junior is the best vocalist (with the best technique) among the idols, followed by Ryeowook, Yesung, Jonghyun, Chen, Junsu, Taemin, Jaejoong, Onew and then Baekyun, Daehyun and D.O. however 'high notes' doesn't mean that someone is good at singing, like Changmin, he has heady high notes but he's not really a good vocalist.

another thing to consider is that the high notes in EXO are divided between D.O., Chen and Baek so when they do sing live (which is not as often as B.A,P.) he doesn't have high notes in every song (except in "What is Love" but there is no choreo to that song). However in B.A.P., Dae has all the high notes in every song. So bc of consistency, I'll have to give this one to Daehyun. But I really do like the tone of Baekhyun's voice, its so rich. Maybe this is just me, but I think both Baekhyun and Zayn Malik have very similar voices.

I am biased to both, but Daehyun is better for me. He doesn't lip-sync, has better control and technique, as well as consistency in his vocal quality. Dae has also has a lot of power in his voice. I think he has also gained a lot of stability in his voice from being able to sing with the complicated choreo that B.A.P typically compliments their songs with. I am very surprised that he managed to achieve this with such a short training period. Finally, Daehyun's use of his tilted larynx really brings out emotion, to a degree that only a minimal amount of people can hope to achieve. This is just personal preference though, both are amazing singers.

If Daehyun could train his voice with Baekhyun's vocal coach, he would be the best singer in Kpop or he would be in TOP 5, I swear. And for those who are upset because people is saying that Baekhyun has a better technique, well it is true, he does have a better technique, is a fact. You are mixing it with better voice. Daehyun voice is stronger because he has the sounding board?? --or I don't know the name in English--, but it is this sound of "strong" that becomes with the chest, thorax (I really don't know how you say this in English xD) It doesnt matter, what I'm trying to say is that Baekhyun has a very well trained voice and has more control over it than Daehyun has. If Daehyun trains his voice the same way Baekhyun does, he would reach more tones, higher, deeper and with a better sound. And you can clearly listen he sounds good. Even though Baekhyun's voice is "soft" or "light" (or whatever in English) he is able to reach those amazing tones with an amazing precission. Daehyun can reach them because of his natural talent and voice (vocal chords?), so stop being offended because of the "better technique" thing, because it is a fact, Baekhyun can project his voice in a better way, but Daehyun with a coach and - I have to add-, less training time could beat him. +Laura G that is very true but baekhyun trained for almost about the same amount of time as daehyun and the reason why baekhyuns voice is clearer and less strained than daehyuns is that he uses his diaphragm when daehyun uses his lungs and throat so it sounds unclear. if he uses the diaphragm then it would be easier to reach high notes and baekhyun does have talents. during his training time he mostly trained his dancing not his vocals cuz he went into sment with just 1 round of audition as he showed his talents well enough so they decided to train his weaker dancing rather than his already strong and high vocals

I didn't say Baek is untalented, they are both talented, of course, they both have the widest ranges in Kpop (one of the widest at least). -- Is it about the use of the diaphragm? the problem here is not the use of it, is how to project the voice (breath, throat, head voice?). They both use the diaphragm really good so it's not about that. -- Is it about the voices? Baekhyun's voice is easier to control because it is thinner but that doesn't mean is easy to project it in the way he does (awesome ofc). He need to be talented to project it like that. Daehyun's voice is harder to control, it is much deeper so when he suddenly changes to head voice(?) from the chest, it sounds strainned because the amount of air that he is projecting to sing just get suddenly cut instead of making a tight path(?) so it hurts his vocal chords; and by the time he can control all that amount of air it is too late to relax his chords (I really don't know if you say chords in English). But anyways, to being able to control that overflowing voice requires talent because damn, it's hard xD -- Maybe you misunderstood the talent voice thing? Baekhyun has talent to project his voice and make it thicker (powerful??) than it actually is, and Daehyun is talented in the way that he already has this thick voice and the way he's able to make it vibrate(?) (resonance) because it is not easy. Is it weird that both Taehyung's "parents" could pull off high notes that were high af they couldve ripped their heads off if they keep doing it, and Taehyung was like "tokkaaaaaaaaa" low af idk anymore lol Anyways, i prefer Daehyun's voice than Baekhyun because Dae is able to control his singing and well idk he sounds nicer in my ears but dont get me wrong i love Baekhyun too

Well for me... It's Daehyun. Baekhyun is an amazing singer, he has an incredible voice (and his high notes are incredible too (especially in Miracle in December)) but Daehyun has this thing that make my heart melt. His voice is so powerful it brings me to the edge of tears each or give me goosebumps each time I listen to it.

I am always pick Daehyun in 2011/2014/2018/2020/... . because for me Daehyun vocal is very stronger and when he's on a highnote he can get more power again. His vocal power look like Lee Hongki, but when someone compare Jung Daehyun with Lee Hongki yes I will pick Lee Hongki. :) in Kpop I love vocal power by Lee Hongki, Jung Daehyun, Yang Yeosob, Baekhyun, Hweseung, Jongho ATEEZ, Jisung & Changbin SKZ.

i AM a baby... and since these are using older footage of daehyun, I will say that from their debuts. baekhyun has more technical training. (Dae only joined a few months before BAP debut... lol) since b.a.p's most recent comeback I think his voice is only getting better.. (that add libbed super high note with no strain in their japan fan meet was unreal O_O; ) I dont know if baek will develop more than the point he's at now though. Also the bulk of B.A.P's voices are actually in the lower tones (YJ is a baritone but rarely sings in that range.. Daehyun is higher but he's often pushed to sing in a higher range)... baek has some skill but as a matter of personal preference, I do prefer Dae's voice. lol. but then again i am more of a fan of hip hop/ rock/ rnb

Though I admit when he first started I noticed that his voice would crack once in a while but after like I think BADMAN I think his voice have improved that he can now handle a high note without cracking his voice and I can say this by watching him live not even once his voice went funny.

Mahnoor Amjad I can still emphasize training here. Baek did join later but as far as promotional activities and tours and staying relatively in Korea, Baek has had the upper hand. Plus access to SM's endless supply of some of the best teachers (including international ones.) JDH with B.A.P (and im saying this as a kpop fan of over 10 years) has had endless comeback promotions after debut, including world tours. There was more focus on making and creating music and the concepts singing within those songs than actual vocal training and development compared to Baek who has had comebacks but not to the same extent as BAP. He also has at least 2 other main vocalists to help carry his part while JDH has largely carried the bulk of BAP's songs in the past. If we're just talking notes/range i would say they are similar but i've also heard JDH go from super power vocal to very gentle and soft harmonization (duet with song ji eun and hyosung from secret). Like I said, JDH for me as my personal preference.

I think Baekhyun's voice is WAY more beautiful then Daehyun's, but not as powerful as his. Baekhyun's voice is soft, nice and angelical, but Daehyun is better at singing. I think Baekhyun has a really beautiful voice, and Daehyun has a powerful one. Well, Baek's voice is pretty, and Dae's is good at high notes. That's it.

Reading the comments from years ago I miss the times when everyone acknowledged B.A.P, even in comparison to EXO. Nowadays, most EXO-Ls don't know B.A.P and they wouldn't even think that they are in any way better than EXO. (This applies to many other fandoms but because the video is about these two, I only included EXO) It can't be helped because time has passed and B.A.P has been forgotten by many, but I would love to go back to those times.

LoL, well obviously w/ my pic I'm Daehyun biased but I like Baekhyun too & can acknowledge his skill. I'll try to be fair. Just straight vocal technique, Baekhyun leads. SM is known for focusing their main vocals in that area & Baek had quite a bit more training. But overall performance goes to Daehyun. I've seen both live, Daehyun gives a consistent powerful performance throughout, whereas after an hour or so of performing Baehyun's voice sometimes waivers & you can hear the strain. I think this attributes to BAP intense choreography & non-stop comebacks, plus Daehyun carries most BAPs songs so he's had a lot of practice with control. For Baekhyun having that many members & sharing the high notes with D.O. & sometimes Chen means he hasn't had to work as hard. So yah if there were just standing singing ballads Baek might be slightly ahead but if they were actually performing, my money would be on Dae. PS: just on sound I prefer Dae's husky voice(but this is personal preference)
