I have walked on that glass floor too! It makes me homesick to learn that I didn't know Mt McKinley was now called Mt Denali. What a beautiful name. I really enjoyed the voiceover. Thanks for the great research.

The Life puzzle looks so bright and colourful. Are you finding it to be quite "crumbly" as well? I think there is a lot of blue in that puzzle, any issues with false fits? I sure hope not and that you are enjoying it. 💜🧩

@@fortheloveofpuzzles Hi yes to the crumbly and lots of blue - I've done most of the balloons and the fish and starting on the animals before i tackle the blue - the sky isn't bad as there are a lot of different shades so you can pretty much tell where they belong. No false fits yet that I know of. I am enjoying doing it but not spending as many hours as I'd like at the moment. Hope you are getting back to enjoying the Round the World one - it looks awesome too.

Hi! Just started watching your videos of this build. I am also building this beast as my 2nd Educa mega puzzle build. I finished 24k Life puzzle back in early 2019 and then decided I would attempt this one as a mixed bag project since there is so much going on in it I figured it wouldnt be too bad. I am in love with the image. It is not a difficult build so far, but I have only scratched the surface. I have all the signs done and a good chunk of the skyscrapers built. Then I set it aside to do smaller puzzles and now am itching to get back to it. I have most of the edge pieces built too. I understand your frustration with the fit. I hated it at first too when I started Life. Drove me nuts for a while but the image kept me going. Now I am used to it. Would still prefer a tighter fit, but I have learned to work around it as you have. So by now, You have probably learned that the repeat pattern equals exactly 1000 pieces per subsection with a total of 6 subsections per 6000 piece bag. Pattern is every 37 pieces horizontally and every 27 pieces vertically. I know that math only equals 999 pieces,but as you pointed out in one of your videos. Those funky looking half pieces that have a wiggly way the edge. Those 2 make up the 1000th piece in every subsection.
@fortheloveofpuzzles
@fortheloveofpuzzles Жыл бұрын
I’m always having trouble with the edges and I’m just doing one bag at a time. I’m also getting use to the loose fit and am looking forward to doing the last three bags as they seem more colourful. Also, I’ll be doing sections with buildings and landmarks of which I am not the most familiar so will be fun to research and learn about them. Thanks again for the information about the two wonky pieces making up the missing piece for the perfect 1000 pieces per section. I’ll check on that for my next video on this puzzle. 💜🧩

You would think the bear made off with his first born the way he tells the story and is so update about losing his bread. But yes, it could have been much worse of an encounter. The bears probably know that food is readily available in the parking lot. 💜🧩

Because I'm doing this is a mix bag project and don't have access downstairs to my larger puzzle board upstairs, I broke out each. Section of the puzzle on to 42 carboard pieces that hold the 1000 piece subsection. This is the way I am assembling the puzzle so that I can work on it downstairs in the evening while my husband and I are watching TV. I have a 6000 peace board that I used for building the life puzzle but it is currently being ued as my Home Office desk for the next few weeks until I get my permanent office built and then it will go back to being a puzzle board. I love Edica with the exception of the loose fit, but I havent had too many false fits, but a few where the correct piece was in place 37 pieces over in a true false fit as you mentioned in this video.

@@fortheloveofpuzzles i loved every minute of the Life build. It took me forever...over 8 years to build it. Not because it was difficult though as it wasnt but because I had just had my first son...then we moved...then built a house...had another baby boy...moved again so there were times when I did not touch the puzzle for over a year at a time. LOL. If I had timed my actual puzzling time it would have been much shorter. LOL

@@fortheloveofpuzzles i mixed the bags over 3 years ago on ATW, and built all the signs, most of the skyscrapers, and moat of the border pieces, but then put it away. So actual puzzle on it might be about 40 hours over the course of several months. After watching your build though I am itcjing to get back to it. If u want to check it out, I have 2 videos on my you tube channel puzzlemomma of the mixing of bags and then another one on the first update. Then nothing. I need to get back to it.

Good job on pronouncing Aconcagua, it's the tallest mountain in the Andes located in Argentina. Watching the northern or southern lights is on my bucket list, which is a little difficult since I live in the Caribbean, was hoping to see them on a trip to Edmonton once but unfortunately the timing wasn't right. Also RIP hawaiian bread :)

I was only at the CN Tower once... but I do believe I walked on the glass... or was that at the Calgary Tower... can't remember. They both have the glass floor. Being a Western Canadian... I have been to the Calgary Tower more than the CN tower... The Calgary Tower is stumpy compared to CN. The Northern Lights are amazing and have had a lot of moments in my life when they showed up in their beauty!!! Beautiful puzzle... Have fun flipping and taping!!!

@@fortheloveofpuzzles I was just in Calgary this week... The Calgary Tower is now dwarfed in the Calgary skyline. Love this video, I will never have the patience to stay all that hours. The image is amazing. About the crumbly piece my suggestion is to use that film that is use in application of lettering, of course you have to check if they will not peel the front. The CN tower is terrifying. I am afraid of heights. I went up it once as a kid, but I’m now quite happy to stay on the ground. Even going to a Jays game can be tricky because the seats are so high up!😂

Fun fact - my grandma who is in her late 90s is a HUGE Jays fan - and I mean she is a hardcore fan! Doesn't miss a game, emails me updates, goes to as many games as she can. But yeah, the seats area steep there as well as many other stadiums/arenas. It's always a bit nerve-racking. 💜🧩

Is it possible to glue/secure…maybe Modpodge it…anything before flipping? I would be so scared one tiny move and the whole thing would crumble! Good luck. 8
@fortheloveofpuzzles
@fortheloveofpuzzles Жыл бұрын
I usually use Mod Podge. I either have to flip and tape the back so the glue doesn't accidentally seep through the cracks - especially on a loose fit puzzle - or I try to slide baking page/wax paper under the puzzle first. I've found with loose fit puzzles, I cannot get the paper to easily slide underneath. It can be more of a nightmare than trying to flip and tape first. Also, I don't want to glue this puzzle as I won't be keeping in a permanent assembled state. But normally when I mount and frame puzzles, I use the matte (yellow bottle) of Mod Podge and love the finish! 💜🧩

Wow, that is certainly looking good and the colours are lovely. 👍 I see you took up hubby's suggestion of moving the table out so that you could access all areas. I'm sure you found it much easier to do the jigsaw because you no longer needed to stretch across to access the top. Your commentary is also very helpful and interesting. It must take you a lot of time to find out about all the buildings etc. On a different note I hope that you were able to see the jigsaw Around the World that Vicky posted on your instagram messenger.
