@@mitchellphillips4691 Was about the say the same. His max distance shot is a full turnover Katana instead of a flat/anhyzer with a Destroyer like a lot of other guys. I've actually found kind of the same thing. I can throw a little faster (speed gun measure) with a flat release, but I get more distance with a full turnover on a Katana or Wraith.

I agree with this! As a player that relies heavily on understable discs, the shots that he throws with the sonic are incredible to watch. That's the next disc I'll be picking up. Also, those GG Halo Wraiths are the truth into headwinds for me! I can still get a subtle turn out of it forehand into the wind, whereas a destroyer just goes dead straight then fades hard.

Was very fortunate to meet GG at a jerky booth at AM Worlds, where I was lucky enough to pick up some delicious food and an even more appetizing Wraith! GG was cool enough to sign it and hang around and chat for a few minutes. World class player and a straight shooter. GL in all you do !

This cracks me up. I started watching disc golf a little over three years ago. I waited another year to start playing and as I started adding discs to my beginner set I saw Garrett pushing the Wombat3 as such a versatile disc. Of course I bought two right off the bat and quickly found them to be uncontrollable for my noodle arm. Over the last 2+ years I have watched every disc golf tournament round on KZbin and the one thing I have never heard from a commentator is "Gurthie threw his Wombat3." Or even Wombat. I have since found that the Mako3 covers 98% of my understable midrange needs. But, the last laugh is on me, I finally found a course with a hole that my Wombat3 seems to be the only disc that will find it's way to the basket (extremely downhill with a right hand dogleg). I still long for the day when Jeremy Koling says "Garrett Gurthie is throwing his Wombat3".
