i used a low alpine on the west highland way last year and couldn't praise it enough. very comfy and sturdy. i can't say enough good things about flip flops for hiking, not only for end of the day comfort and loo trips but for crossing bodies of water. the amount of small rivers and streams i had to wade across in scotland was a breeze for me, on go with flip flops, roll the trousers up and over you go with your poles to steady yourself. my friend doing it barefoot next to me was cursing his decision to leave them at home and after 5 days of mashing his toes on underwater rocks vowed it'll be the first thing he'll pack in future trips haha. dry bag all the things, ALL THE THINGS! great video :)

Agreed, the XF100 is terrific; I've got the XF200 which I love, apart from a slightly noisy image. The batteries, as you say, last forever!

I am doing the same trip this year in september for the first time and I gonna use a Lowe Alpine Diran. Almost the same bag. The bag feels great when full and heavy, I tried it when I bought it. The only thing is I need to train my body for this hike.

I did enjoy the video and you have just cost me £10 as although I have a midge net it does not have a hat, so I now am the proud owner of a pop up hat and midge net. Also legs aching so take Brufen, it is a sticking plaster job, the reason the legs ache is that when you exercise you break down muscle to rebuild it again stronger so it would be better to take some protein shake to assist the rebuilding of the muscle, try it is works.

You should try one of these solar panel power banks! I'm not sure how heavy they are but it might save you some weight as you don't have to bring so many camera batteries

don't think they'd really have enough power in them to be able to charge all the different batteries everyday, plus most of the hike was in rain/trees so not much UV to harness :(

Hi great video. Hope it went well. Quick tip....... You can open your packets of nooooodles at home crush them up with a rolling pin. Then put them back in a small seally bag. That way they take up a lot less room. But still weigh the same :0/

Have you at any point found the Rab Neutrino endurance 600 too warm? The comfort rating starting at -2 worries me for camping in warmer climates. Would be immensely helpful to know your first hand experience with this. Ta!

We have never used in warm climates but it's been really cosy in the colder places we have camped out like north Sweden + and Scotland. Hope that helps :)

Depends on how bulky your gear is. :) I had a 46l Osprey Kyte and it went fine. Would recommend to go to a store with all your gear and see how it fits, if possible.

I'm sorry but the food situation is terrible. I'm not sure now many long term hikes you two have done, but that is not a good indicator of the type of food you want to take with you. Calories are only half the issue. You need massive amounts of fats and carbs for a long hike. Think porridge, instant rice, kendal mint cake etc. The mug shots are a terrible idea, they are just full of sugar and empty carbs with no actual energy values. The noodles are not too bad, but aim for food with not just high calorie but rich in salts, sugars and fats.

£400 sleeping bag is alot, is there a good sleeping bag for cheaper?

speaking from experience this is the best we've found, with a lot of hiking gear it's generally always in your best interest to invest in a good piece of kit, these sleeping bags will last a really long time and cover us in pretty much any environment. There will be cheaper ones out there but we don't know how decent they are in terms of wear and tear, durability, warmth, material etc... hopefully someone in the comments might have some advice?

For the WHW you don't need a sleeping bag that costs any more the £60. Winter a bit more.

Hi, great vids. You may want to look a tad deeper into the the calories you get from noodles/ super noodles etc. What is states one front of the pack is little bit misleading. Google calories in super noodles, different story, about 150-170 calls per 100 gms. Just sayin'

the noodles are 600 calories per pack, more than enough for a meal! The mug shots are around 200~ which is good for a snack :)

The Indie Projects I may be wrong. However (two portions) one 85gm pack (as prepared) still only give 306 kcal (calories) 153 per portion but 1298kj (kilojoules) 649 kj per portion, these are not calories. 1kcal=4.2 kilojoules. Mega confusing packaging by manufacturers. I'm not even going to try and understand what the figures mean on front of packet. Good luck
