For so many years I put others first - husband, son, parents etc - I turn 60 this year and it’s my turn now and I’m having a ball. My granddaughter will be inheriting quite a Louis Vuitton collection some day!

It really kills me how so many people give their unsolicited opinions about luxury bags! However, I don't see the same reaction to people who choose to invest in luxury watches. Such a double standard!

I really enjoyed this video! For years I didn’t spend money on myself but now that I’m a divorced empty nester and I don’t feel guilty about my luxury purchases. I, personally, do not understand spending hundreds of dollars every month on Starbucks or ordering lunch in every day but if that makes someone happy, go for it.

Better advice: just don't wear a flashy four figure bag into work. Just stick to something high quality and more ordinary that costs a few hundred as a work tote. Save the luxury for your personal life, unless you are mingling with similar high-income people at work where this won't even come up as they likely spend that money on something even more absurd. But if you are in a entry level position, I don't think you should even bother. Luxury items, whether we see it ourselves or not, make a statement. As with everything else, it is best to leave some statements out of the workplace for simplicity.
