I knew something was off with Walar, so I never liked him and his interactions with Mani. I also love how the direction of the story gradually went for Hlyan. He started as a side character and ended up a love interest for Mani (I really hope so). I would be so much satisfied if Mani opened himself up to Hlyan and the latter decide to break off the marriage.

The sad thing about this is that Hlyan still has control over the situation despite his mother. She can possibly disown him, but she can't make him marry the girl. He just has to refuse to sign the papers. I know the culture makes it difficult, but that's the objective truth.
