His memory loss earlier has to do with him dying and now he has access to the memory of his earlier life but it gets more and more hazy the closer it gets to hus death. So he will regain it all soon. I know bbh lore can get confusing from an outsider pov lmao :D

you mean on qsmp? first time! idk if you know about dementia but it doesn't go away in a day, so there's several videos like this one about dementia episode. But this one is different, he died and came back, so he doesn't have dementia anymore, he just came back "blank", his memory from long ago is still here, but his memory from his last life (aka qsmp, and maybe a bit before) is coming back little by little. With dementia, it was doomed to get worse, with a lot of relapse, now it's just a question of time, but no relapse. Hope I helped :)
