Bags of Change: Joana's Green Innovation

Join Joana on a transformative journey where agro-waste becomes the hero in the fight against flooding. Joana's innovative use of corn husk, rice straw, plantain, and banana stems to produce biodegradable packaging bags has reduced the use of polythene/plastic bags in the community of Tamso. Winner of the EUR 25,000 prize from the SNV GrEEn Innovation Challenge, Joana is scaling up her production with a solar dryer and shredder, and fostering a community-wide shift toward sustainable practices.
