I am very very happy I found this. Thank you so much for sharing all this with the world. That finger ripples individuate the use of forearm muscles should be obvious, but I never thought about it, and you've made this all the more meaningful and fun where before it was just arbitrary details to me. This also makes it more expressive now for me, but I guess that's part of the fun aspect. Thanks again so much for this.

You're the best, Gene! Thanks for taking requests ;-) I like to combine the TCC stepping with this. And the big frame is great for strengthening and trimming the waist.

Thanks for the great explanation!! I'm brand new to this and most presenters either speak too quickly or say nothing at all.

I came across the tea cup exercise some years ago,, And I came to some strong realisations maybe you agree maybe not , the drill I believe it is best done on straight lines first before full circles Let me explain... I'm basicly breaking it down into little chucks.. a spin at the top high and one low, Or side to side high Or falwards and back( high or low) in line with the center or in line with the shoulder and so on.. Think of a big cube one per arm, Each side is a way of the rotation to be practiced... or if your keen to find them all go from each corner to each other corner.. Going form position of weak to a strong position try a joint lock and just follow the tea cups and I'm out of the lock find the correct line by feeling the force of the applied lock... The technique shows how to move and flow out of locks and holds... terrible for strikes but the next question is can this show how to apply the joint locks... food for thought.. hope I've explained well.. any questions I'm happy to reply

I don't really grasp your straight line method from your description. The only way I've ever done it is the way I show in the video. And while I don't do a ton of joint lock work, when I do, it's bagua and working on escapes that flow into more locks and more escapes. It seems easier to just immediately punch them in the face. So I do work a lot on that kind of response too. If you could post or link me to a video of that straight line method, I'd love to see it. I just associate bagua so thoroughly with circles and spirals, I don't know if any other way would appeal to me...but it might. I'd have to see it. Here are links to a couple of videos I made more recently using weighted balls. Curious what you think of this kind of stuff: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqrUn2Sgq86XgZY kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnmvmIuihbWMrJo

@@GeneBurnett I love your video's with the weights it's fantastic becoming aware of the body no cracking in joints, and moving the whole body with the movement absoulty perfect.. In regards to your inquiry i don't think I'll be able to find anyone on KZbin demonstrating what I am talking about.. but that's got me inspired I will do a video of myself I'll just use a 4 kg dumble to demonstrate the lines I speak I love your idea with the weights and so will do the same.. Im not shor when I'll get the free time to do the video but when I do I'll send you the link through the KZbin inbox..

@@GeneBurnett So your the guy?! I lived there for a couple years, maybe 2011-2014? Something like that. I left all the furniture there. When, and if, I can return. (Temporarily stranded in the EU. That's only half a joke.) Anyway, should I return I would be happy to accept some help with my Pa Kua, if you have a little time to spare a fellow kung fu man. I love that park. I used to live on Starflower Avenue. I love Ashland. Do you have an Email? I need help right there in town, perhaps you can consider a solution for me. (This is synchronicity and I shouldn't ignore it.) Anyway thanks for sharing spinning tea cups. All the best. Laoshr #60 Ching Yi Kung Fu Association
