Isn't it weird an Asian guy is doing boxing and black guy is doing Kung Fu 😂💀

Sry i dont want to hate but... dont call it bagua vs boxing if the boxer dont know to box. Im not a keyboard warrior i actually train boxing 4 times a week.... u can clearly see he telegraphs his hook he hast a pull back motion and he crosses his feet when walking ... just boxing fundamentals

That guy is not a boxer. I can tell by the way he punches and doesn’t know how to move while punching.

I watched this video to help write one of my character's fighting styles, and I learned a lot. He's actually a boxer who turned to mix martial arts by adding Bagua into his technique. I feel more confident writing this character's interactions in fights now.

Sorry man. I understand nothing in boxing. I also have zero knowledge in Bagua. No offence. But you're closing your eyes while deflecting! That's what you usually getting rid of in a first year of sparring training

Not gonna lie ,I tend to be a bit dismissive with certain martial arts that I think are impractical, but if you can convince me it will work then I will believe you. What I saw in this video is pretty awesome and I really like your moves.

People always talking about Kung Fu is fake?! It's not fake until you make it adaptable & effective!
@MartinJutras
This is pretty much one of the only videos on KZbin where you have a kung fu guy that doesn't transform into a kickboxer during sparring. Kudos.

You can’t put boxing gloves on one of your students and call him a boxer. He has absolutely no boxing skills. This sad as I actually quite like your videos. My experience: Boxer for 8 years (younger years) and martial artist for life.

Beautifully done. The parry to off-balance him near the one minute mark with your relaxed pivot to spin is high level stuff. Nice.

i like how the author is constantly showing the practical application of both useful technique and a calm demeanor..... foot work definitely proves itself as fundamental in this demonstration....

When it’s done right watching applied bagua is unreal. This was such high level movement. Such subtle movements and they make all the difference 👍

Thanks so much for sharing Sifu Robert! I have always wanted to clearly see how Bagua is used in sparring. Your breakdowns and call outs are fantastic. Really enjoyed seeing you both display skill in your respective arts. Poetry in application!

I really enjoy your approach to working with partners and your commentary. There are concepts here that apply to any martial art.

That was amazing, I think that a lot of fighting techniques are hidden in traditionnel styles but no body wabt to pay attention to them

Very nice stall on the strike turning your fist up and slowing it down in a spit second to not take his eye.
