48" Lesco Walk Behind Lawn Mower

I got my hands on a free 48" Lesco commercial walk behind mower. It doesn't look like its too bad and it runs pretty good. Hopefully I can fix it up and flip it for a few bucks.

*This mower....... changed my life **Bestfor.Garden** also recommend I never thought I would see the day when I would ever make the switch to electric yard tools. But this was one of my best decisions yet. My old 15+ year old gas mower snapped its pull string while trying to get it to fire up and instead of fixing it, I chose to upgrade instead.*

I just got home with my 48" lesco walk behind seems to be in very good condition, no issues, no rust, runs and cuts very smoothly as is. Came with a bag. Paid $500

those lesco walkbehinds are my favorite mowers..i learned how to mow on a 48 when i was 13..i can cut about any hill itll stick to

We had a Lesco 54" Hydro. It lost its spindle also. Turns out the part was no longer available. So we started collecting copies of our mower. One from Florida, another from Richmond VA, another from Harrisonburg, VA. The old Lesco floating MTD deck is our favorite.

The internet is ur friend. Ebay and amazon have replacement spindles for dirt cheap

@@guesswho4671 Thanks. We searched ebay etal for ages. One time we found a spindle out west for $224. Passed. Fabricators would of adapted replacement parts. We eventually started finding our mowers and were able to keep spares.

Was the center spindle pully difficult to remove?

Hello. I have one and for some reason after I engage the blades shortly after the engine wants to stall. Would you have any ideas? Thanks I’d appreciate it. Mine is a pull start.

That other tractor those engines have a common issue where the flywheel magnets let go, you may not want to seal its fate until you do some investigations.

I still use one. Bought it a couple years ago broken down for $500. Mine is hydro drive. Most of the parts are common to other brands. The Kawasaki fh500, ( the engine in this video) does tend to burn up coils. Otherwise it's a great engine, very reliable. I have 4 walk-behind mowers and the Lesco sticks to hills better than any of my other mowers.

Hello, I just got a 48 Lesco but I have a question. Is there a way to adjust it so I can cut short or tall grass? Or is there a recommended way to do so? Thank you!

You simply move the "donuts" on the front casters to above or below the frame.

Or, remove the blades, take the top spacers and put them at the bottom of the spindle and reinstall.

On top of the blade, of course!

Also if you need you can completely unbolt the deck and move it up or down. should be six bolts three on each side in between the engine and back of the cutting deck.
