When we lived in the Dallas suburbs 20 years ago, our next door neighbors were Billie and Jim -- they were in their early 40s. No kids. They smoked, they drank, they laughed a lot. This is the type of music they would put on the record player in the big wooden entertainment console. And played it loud. So much different from Lawrence Welk that my parents listened to!

This reminds me of the times I lived in Manila, Phillippines, and walking down Makati Avenue, at night, after dinner and marriage was totally out of my mind. The girls! OMG, there were so many, beautiful ones, mediocre ones, all types, all sweethearts, word! Every bar we enjoyed a beer at, it was full, and the attention we received was beyond words. Circa 1980's Oh, the memories this brings back.
