This is not to say that there were no revolts against the British before 1857, but there was no unified opinion. There were many others who supported the British at that given time. Nawab of Bhopal, Holkars of Indore and the Nizam of Hyderabad supported the British in 1857.

Something missing in this history! In history India was the greatest ship manufacturers according to Vasco de Gama, the Parsis flee from Persia were given refugee by the Gujarat King so naturally the parsee were not rich on arrival in india. The parsees started becaming rich after the Britisher' s rule in india

Very good information, I have learnt for the first time. But at the same time, it is saddened to watch that despite having a very old tradition in ship-building,we have failed to dominate the global marititine shipping industry. In fact ,we have lagged behind, whereas China , Korea, etc, have progressed. Greek dominates the shipping trade. The story of Parsi community has always interested me. Where they differ promibently from Indian bania class is their outlook,approach, and world-view and their strong moral and ethical living and more particularly their philanthropgy.

It's not just capital, in that time period, the technical know how was precious because it was rare.. Just imagine Shivaji Maharaj/later Marathas commissioning ships from Wadias, maybe after him nobody unfortunately paid attention to the seas or sea trade...it's these little things that could have changed history

Your history on Wadias is partially incorrect. You have mixed up lovji with bomanji. Lovji Wadia was a carpenter who had experience in ship building since he was from Surat. He worked for the shipping company that got contracts from East India company. The Scottish owner passed away and no one from his family or relatives took over. Since lovji was the most experienced ship builder, he got a chance to run the company. Land was free since it was leased to EIC and financing was paid upfront for each ship building stage wise in those days. All the 3 ships shown in your video were built by Bomanji Wadia and not Lovji, who died in 1774. The logo of Wadia has not changed to date and it says "In Deo Fide en Preseventia".

Yes only few of the parsee kept their promise. Others were divided by Britishers as the colour of their skin was white. The Britisher's gave them high post and they use to sell opium that's how they became rich." Ready money "was the title given to one such parsee family( the building still exists at worli, Mumbai) who also have donated some square in London. If we go by history it is quite evident that the parsis enjoyed better position and financial freedom than the rest of other rich Indians. How else would have amass so much wealth when in reality they were refugees from Persia? Some parsis like General Manekshaw served the Indian National Army that too after independence. Sir Jamshedji Tata was another example. But the originals heirs of businessmen were the Mittals ( iron and steel manufacturers) When Vasco di Gama reached india he was surprised to see huge ships made by Indians. Actually our whole history has been distorted by the Britishers and Nehru Gandhi Family to accomodate personal benefit and dynasty rule in india. They have robbed india in more ways and made us look like beggars but it reality it is the colonial mentality that is the root cause of divide amongst Indians. The great Maratha rulers are not glorified by our first unelected Prime Minister.
