Tips for offroading;- Set your gears first before you plunge into any deep ruts. Don't stop to change gears when you're already in the muck. BTW, those MTs looks nice.

That is great! I have also installed the 4:88 gears. I've noticed that the engine is a bit cooler at high altitude long climbs. Also the acceleration is a bit better. Rear and front locker now working properly. Hope you get good results witht the new comming mods!

@@w12martin hello! Please advise what original gears installed? How 4.88 gears are comparable with 285/70/17 tyres? Whether GPS and odometer indications are the same? I am from Kazakhstan and considering bj40 champion edition to buy. How new tyres size fit to arches? I appreciate your advices.

@@Azezello2000 Hello, original gears are 4:56. The 4.88 adjust the increase in tire size with the lost in torque I guess. with this setup the spedometer is around 4kms slower than real gps speed so the odometer will lie a bit. With a 2 inches lift suspension, the 33 inches tires will fit about right.

Is this the petrol or diesel, manual or auto version? It's being released in South Africa at the end of October, and from what I've seen, I really like it. All depends on price though as they haven't release prices yet.. Cool video..

Thanks! This is the petrol 2.3T automatic version. In China is 3 times cheaper than a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Hence a really good option for those searching for a refined offroader...

Hello Martin, thanks for the videos, the trip looks amazing! I'm thinking about getting one of these here in UAE but I'm worried about accessories. How is the market there in China? can you share some links or search keywords to take a look? other than that, any issues that are bringing you back to the garage for repairs? or just normal services?

Hi Raziel, thanks for your comment. No issues so far. The car has 16 thousand kms. If you can import stuff from China, then accessories wouldn't be a problem. I use the Chinese online market taobao to buy parts. You can find parts simply by searching BJ40, BJ40 Plus, 北京BJ40, etc.

How are the durability, suspension, and riding feeling of this car? Is it comfortable? Because I'm planning to buy one. People said that Chinese cars break down after three years. Will you recommend buying one?

Can't really say too much about durability since my car is 1.5 years old but so far I've done a lot of offroad trips and the car hold it just fine. The warranty should cover you for 5 years, depending of which country you live. The car is really comfortable and noise free in the highway. The more I drive this car, the more I like it. Even in the city is comfortable regardles of its big size. However, the fuel consumption is high. Its a heavy offroad car so if you are planning to get fuel efficiency, this is not your best choice. If you are looking for a comfortable, offroad capable car, this is a good option.
