The BB-4816M is a unique magnetic box and pan brake that has endless bending possibilities when compared to conventional sheet metal brakes. Requiring a common 220 volt, single phase power supply this folding machine can bend boxes or pans to almost any depth since it isnt reliant on conventional finger depths. A powerful magnet in the bending bed can be engaged by foot pedal or push button control to hold down a mild steel clamping bar of almost any configuration across the bed width or bed length. The sheet metal is pinned between the magnetic mild steel clamping bar, at this point the bottom bending leaf can be lifted to complete the bend.
The mild steel clamping bar can be made of straight bars (of various widths if you had very tight boxes to make) for straight bends or segmented clamping bars for box and pan applications of any other configuration. Again, because of the unique design the operator is not limited to the depth of the item since you are no longer limited by finger length.
Our BB-4816M magnetic sheet metal brake can bend (items impossible for traditional box and pan brakes) totally enclosed boxes, triangles, alternate bends on varying planes, round items such as scrolling applications, and much more. This machine is perfect for bending sheets of mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, coated materials, heated plastics, and much more.
The bottom leafs bending extension can be removed for the tightest bend dimension between bends of 5/8. A scaled stroke angle control can be set for repeatable bends time after time. This magnetic box and pan brake comes with product supports and adjustable back gauges for production runs, as well as a simple to use gap adjustments on the standard clamping bars for different sheet metal thicknesses.
To initiate a bend on the BB-4816M magnetic sheet metal brake simply put a piece of material between the clamping bar to the depth required, hit the foot pedal control that softly clamps the material (this is done for operator safety so fingers are safely out of the machine) allowing for any repositioning, once ready, lifting the leaf arms engages full magnetic power (6 tons) holding the material in place as the leaf arm makes the appropriate bend.One of the biggest advantages of this type of box and pan brake is that the magnetic power of 6 tons is consistent across the entire beam allowing for very crisp bends even in the middle of the machine.

I got one a few months ago. Its pretty cool but I find it doesn't have enough clomping force using the small hold down bars on small inside bends. It just moves or lifts. Talking only 20 gage. Its fine for longer pieces and the 180 radius is great for hem edges.

This thing is great except baileigh forgot one 'little' detail. This thing is super picky about input voltage and requires 220v. Your voltage is probably 2 leg 120v (240v) meaning it will not work without a converter. This is a huge design flaw and they should fix it. 225v wont work, 230v wont work, 235v wont work, 240v wont work, 245v wont work etc

How do you precisely control the bend radius of the work? How do you precisely square the work?

+welderboy14 Bend radius and bend angle are two different things. I talked to the people at Baileigh, and they told me the bend radius could be adjusted with the knobs at either end of the full length clamping bars. (they say these are for material thickness, but they really offset the clamp bar from the bend line, changing the bend radius. The machine is very versatile, but we needed much more precise control of bend radius. So we bought another type of machine, sold by Baileigh as a Reversible Finger Brake, and Grizzly as a Deluxe Pan and Box Brake. They have micrometer control of the offset, for better control of bend radius.

Do not wear or have any metal on you during operation , including your keys or Cell Phone , also the magnetic holder piece for the triangle is still inside of it .

I purchased the 8' machine a little over 2 months ago and im still waiting on baileigh to help me get it to work. I have never dealt with such horrible customer service. round and round excuse after excuse as to why its not their fault and they have a contract that they are not responsible for cost associated with getting the machine to work. i literally fight with them on a weekly basis on what they are going to try to do. the best answer i have recieved is to crate it back and send it in and they will decide if they are going to cover it under warranty or not. i should be lucky im not having to pay for all the new parts they are sending me to try and get it to work while my electrician bill just keeps racking up.
