A beleza desta música demonstra a força que o Occitano possui...Leve e sutil nos encanta, reporta com simplicidade e lirismo o chamado de una pastora a um pastor que se encontra do outro lado do rio para que este venha dançar e romper com a solidão. Pede para que ele venha pastorear nas verdejantes colinas do lado do rio que ela se encontra. Quando o chama para dançar sua voz faz um eco nas últimas sílabas. É um hino à vida, um clamor ao rompimento da solidão, quase uma prece para o congrassamento, uma vez que a pastora não pode atravessar o rio. Ao conhecermos a paisagem da Auvenia e o pastoreio de ovelhas passamos a entender melhor esta belíssima canção.

the fun thing to do with youtube is view different artists performing the same song - each one has their idolators - and detractors - Kiri's remains my favorite voice for this languid intensely romantic song - the conductor & orchestra (Jeffrey Tate & English Chamber Orchestra) & the recording studio deserve much credit too

@@vanmij4926 - the sound engineering on the Davrath is different - it's like the mic were close to her mouth - we can hear every syllable - it's a very nice rendition - Kiri's sounds like she's somewhere off in the mountains

@@johneyon5257 That's the way it should be! The muted "distanced" parts are the response from across the mountain valley to the call from this side, the pastoral form.

Fabulous performance, but prefer those that do not feature the piano part so prominently, which I find so annoying and intrusive and not at all in the aesthetic of the piece. (God, I'm a blowhard..)
