Hi guys & thanks for watching - I took my van to the dealers twice, they couldn't find the damp, then when I showed them photos & videos of the damp they believed me. It had been dry for a while when they looked at it.

Damp can be a nightmare, you've made me think I better check mine soon too :) Good luck with it all.

@CaravanningwiththeMrs Yes was fun but exhausting filming it all but you'll understand that 🙂

@ChrisGetsOut Yes I'm always mindful of the fact that I don't want filming and editing to become a pain or intrusive which is why they're generally quite short ATM. Bit like gambling - keep it fun or take a break!!!

@@CaravanningwiththeMrs yes agreed, you have to control youtube, not youtube control you!

Thanks for watching, unfortunately this can happen to most makes & models.

@@Kevbobster yes agree but for the money you spend on these vans and with all the issues and loops you have to go through its not something i want the stress with. Freedom vans looks like a good option.👍

Thanks for the update and glad you’re both moving forwards with sorting out the issues you’ve been having with your caravan. The repairs look good and I did wonder if it was linked to the skirts not being fully sealed. Kind regards both Tris and Nikki

I bought a brand new Bailey Pheonix in mid January, after a night of rain about ten days later I decided to have a look under tha caravan. I was horrified to see water running OUT of the caravan through a vent and onto the drive, upon examination water was running through the front windows and either side of the pull out table and onto the floor!. Also when I looked under the floor the floor edges were wet. One of the problems is rain runs down the walls and enters the back of the skirt moulding and enters the floor edge. This moudd has two parts and the back is not sealed to the wall, hence water runs into the floor. As you say they have sealed the top of the mould but I solved this problem by sealing ALL along these edges with white electricians tape. (diall from B+Q). Also ensure all of the corner and wheel arch moulding caps are sealed. I would also recommend you to check under all of the underside of all four corners as water runs down the awning rail channel and can get into the floor!. I have had three baileys and all have had damp issues. If your caravan has alu-tech you will likely have damp floor issues so chack it out after heavy rain!.. 'IS THIS REALLY GOOD ENOUGH BAILEY'.....

Hi, wow, that sounds awful but not difficult to fix, hopefully my dealer will sort it properly next time. Yes I am checking the corners etc after it rains. You're right, it's dreadful, it's one of the biggest purchases you make and damp is a huge problem, shouldn't be that difficult to design it out.

@@CaravanningwiththeMrs Before this caravan I had a 2019 bailey cadiz, and it had exactly the same issues. It is exactly the same design, so hasn't been "re-deesigned".

Bailey vans are renowned for it and if you have a problem its difficult to stop. The reason I can see is a flawed system on the wall to floor joint that causes the floor to act as a sponge via capillary action of water if it gets behind any bumper or skirt. No joke when I say water could be getting in behind the wheel spat and travel along bottom rail finding its way out there. When I changed to a motorhome, I had to ditch Bailey for Swift who have a completely different way of attaching the walls to the floors so this problem shouldn't arise. Giod luck.
