Bailey Unicorn Vigo review

The new Unicorn has been given a complete makeover does it look better than the one it replaces? Decent spec but it comes at a cost and some items I would expect at the price are not fitted-check out the video!

Agree 100% on the split stable door. With 2 small dogs it’s one feature we wouldn’t go without

Hi Andy I too fear for the stable door, it’s great for keeping my Jack Russell Terrorist under control and opening on a sunny day.

The stable door is great - love it. Like the washroom window - would want it frosted/smoked though and the roof vent in the shower. The extra space from not having a front locker is great, though I would personally want a "utility" cupboard somewhere. The soft close is a nice feature that I think should be adopted more regularly for how low cost it would be. The amount of those brown circle screw covers, especially in the bathroom, is not good at all. The battery box under the floor is a poor idea, while it gets you a bit of storage to one side locker, it means you've either got to put the carpets down or put up with a very messy floor. Fake curtains seem pointless. I think the best execution of the sunroof is found in Coachman. A nice neat fit, good size to let light in and looks just as good from the outside. My summary for this Bailey is I'm sure those who buy it will probably be very happy with it, there are some good details, but to me I'd save £4,000 and go for a Sprite. Or actually, I'd save £2,000 and upgrade in size to a Sprite Quattro EW. Do like a Coachman but the 23 Acadia with the toilet emptying in the awning is just an absolute no! Sorry it was a bit of a long comment!

Hi James not a problem loved your comments - yep Sprites still take some beating i personally dont think this latest Unicorn has been as popular though I do like some of the features you mention - battery in floor is a no for me as is no front gas locker - the Arcadia is a nice van too the loo emptying point isnt a problem for me as I dont use an awning - but my money would go for the Sprite ! thanks James for you comments and watching the channel too.

Hi Stuart thanks for comments it’s down to personal taste in the end I take it you saw the bailey in the flesh and I know what you say on swifts I am told a major revamp of the tourer s for 2023 but if the Bailey fills your needs for you then it’s the right choice thanks again for commenting

Very disappointing, from the mark 4 on they are losing their way with the Unicorn and with this trim, those stupid pointless curtains etc it’s looking a bit basement for over £28,000. Not good enough against similar price competitors.

Think mk 4 was better didn’t like to say but I think some cost cutting had been going on I would look at what the competition has before I parted with my dough 😊 thanks for your comments

Very fair review although I have a Coachman I do like Baileys. One thing I wish they would do is fit Squire or Oblong sinks. If table is still stored under bed another bad point. Where is the electric box it not under front seat and with small under seat opening Alde heating must be their making flap no use for putting things under seat. But just only my thoughts. Winchester Caravans have open weekend this coming weekend will have a look myself and report back.

Think table is stored under bed wine bottle holder takes up normal table storage cupboard I will be interested in what you think to me it doesn’t feel a 28k van

@@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk When I had Baileys I always bought Pegasus as I could not see the £5k difference. Same quality few little differences but £5k cheaper.

@@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk good review, ordered ours mid September waiting for it to arrive. Yesterday the price shot up an extra £1400 to £29199+ over 600 quid for delivery. If that was the price when we ordered ours I maybe rethinking.

@Carl Swift thank you yes prices are rising this reminds me of the early 70s with inflation and vat added to caravans in 1973 adding hundred or so pounds on caravans pushing prices of mid market vans to over a £1000! Big news then ! Let me know how you get on thank you for comments

Why would you want the sink further back? It’s further to lean over to use? With it there it frees up a bit of room at the back edge of it. BTW video went a bit odd on the shot of you sat at the front. It’s to be hoped that model you saw was better made than the models I saw on the models that toured dealers. Cupboards broken; fridge door fallen off, poorly fitted door to washroom (alignment) and badly fitted surround to the bottom of the infinity window. Hoping these were pre production models that had had a bit of abuse on show.

Err right personally sink. Reds to be in just an inch maybe and the lens misted up which was strange never happened before I found a few loose hinges but basically sound but to me feels built to a price grp inner walls old hat now polystyrene infills what do you think but no bits should be dropping off not like a major show with more foot traffic Dave as always ta for remarks
