The first time I went to Madeira I heard this song the first evening performed by a traditional band who I was told customised it by adding many verses talking about the history of the town. I found a rough English translation and any time i think of Madeira I hear this music. One observation though, in the video above, the photos chosen do not begin to do justice to the beauty of the island, what were you thinking choosing pictures of houses and motorways? I could do a better job and I have only been there six or seven times.

First time I heard this song was on the deck of a boat in Funchal harbor, Jan 1st 2019 at 12:45AM with a bunch of happy folks celebrating the new year. Will be publishing a series of my journey to the beautiful island, soon.
