BaitFuel vs. MaxScent (I Caught a GIANT)

I know Berkley Bass Attractant works. Haven't noticed any improvement with Bait Fuel. Had high hopes for it.

I think you are spot on with the water vs oil based scent. The problem with water based scent is that it doesn’t absorb into soft plastic, so the water based scent just washes off. Somehow Berkley has managed to fuse water based scent into max scent and gulp alive, and that is what makes it better.

ive used both and the bait fuel does nothing but get my hands greasy i totally think its a gimmick. the max scent ive used for every fish imaginally and it has out performed live bait hands down.

Maybe try the same xzone bait on both rods, one with bait fuel and without. Might help you evaluate bait fuel on its own.

Great question. You can soak it overnight or apply constantly - I soaked em. But I’m recently learning applying on site is better

@BEtheFish nah 😆. but the person fishing the bait should not be all that experienced(i.e. wouldn't know the difference) or maybe be unaware of the testing. Another idea would be to use both on jugs? Would that even work? Don't know, just trying to take the bass Fisherman out of the equation.

@BEtheFish thanks, and thanks for doing the video. I just ordered some bait fuel with card points. Since, I've been watching a lot videos on the topic. One thing I've noticed is that bait fuel seems to generate more by catches. The same seems to have happened in your video. If I'm not mistaken, you caught drum on the bait fuel. So it may generate more bites. It may be effective, especially when used in conjunction with electronics (FFS specifically) where you have a chance to identify schooling bass
