'Bajaj Platina 100 is know for its exceptional mileage and comfortable suspension but what happens when one takes it to its limits?
Bikramjit Singh, Retd. Hawaldar, Indian Army, decided to take the Platina 100 through a 700KM mileage test on one full tank of petrol.
Starting from Keylong (altitude: 3081M) to Umling La Pass (altitude: 5800M), the journey to the world's highest motorable road saw gravelly roads, freezing conditions and many surreal sights.
We were only able embark & finish this journey because of the confidence and faith our Platina tribe puts in us.

My Platina 110 comfortec 2019 model after 4 years, full servicing in Bajaj Showroom and both new tyres ( rear updated to 3.00/17 ) gave me 83.5 kmpl. It was amazing. Cruising speed was 50-55 kmph. After 60 kmph it had alot of vibration. But I was not racing. Wanted to enjoy my ride and definitely did. 😊

One of my relative completed 1 lakh kilometres in his Platina. I guess even Bajaj did not think about that because the old analog meter comes in 5 regular and 1 decimal number system. So when my relative crossed 99,999.9 kilometres, the meter came down to all Os. Yes you read it right. Since then I have huge respect for Bajaj.

Nehi sir.. Ye video hill areas me shoot huya hai. Matlab ye jaga bohut uchai par hai jaha oxygen ki matra bohut hi kam hai. To is sthiti me gari ka engine thik thak power produce nehi kar pata hai. Aur engine stress bhi bohut zyada hota hai.. Isiliye milage kam lag raha hai. Lekin sach batao to ye milage maine to expect nehi kiya tha... Ye bohot zyada hai mere expectation se...

I travelled with platina from New Delhi to Auli uttarakhand aprx - 1200km both up and down where my total fuel cost was only 2200 rupees. Where my friends😂 they have bullet they expense aprox 6000 rupees on fuel This bike suspension is very comfortable

I have covered 945 kms is 10 liters of power petrol ( calculated reserve to reserve ) thats 94.5 kmpl .. This was due to pure highway riding at night time (night shifts) at 45-55 kmph with minimal stops and riding in 4th gear. I had brought Bajaj Platina in 2007 and these figures are from 2012. Currently bike gives around 65 kmpl in Mumbai city conditions as its now almost 15 years old. Many friends suggested me to go for Hero / Honda / Yahama when i was planning to buy this bike .. I dont regret my decisions as it had saved lot of fuel and money. You can also optimize the mileage of any bike by ensuring 1: chain sproket is cleaned and lubed, 2: Inflate tyres at proper pressure 3: Riding at 45-55 kmph: 4 Learn to adjust air-fuel screw on carburetor for lean burn 5: Ensure that motorcycle battery is in proper condition.

I had splendor plus 1st gen that gave me a mileage of 70kmpl in any condition (achieved min 65 and max 85kmpl). Right now I own cb shine bs4 that gives me mileage of 55kmpl in any condition. But one of my friends had ct100 2016 and that bike gave a mileage of 95kmpl 😳, even more than my other friend's platina that gave about 65kmpl. Platina is good but ct100 is the real mileage king and the best part was that ct100 was 43k on road at that time, dirt cheap!!
