We test the Bajaj Re against the TVS King Deluxe is a side by side video filmed in the hills heading to Kaybiang Tunnel along the Nasugbu - Ternate Hwy, Maragondon, Cavite.
Who will win this Tuk Tuk Race over 12.3 kilometres? Will it be the Bajaj RE 4S or the TVS King Deluxe GS+? Both Auto Rickshaws have a 200cc Engines to be exact the Bajaj RE has a 198.88 cc engine and the TVS King has a 199.26 cc Engine. So the TVS Engine is only 0.38cc bigger, surely that is not enough to make the TVS King faster.
The weight of the TVS King is 356 Kg which is heaver that the Bajaj RE which weighs in at 337 Kg so the TVS King has 19kgs extra to pull up it hills.
Anyway enjoy watching the video, we should point out at no time during the video was the speed limit broken.

I have Bajaj RE facelift and had TVS King and I would say Bajaj RE is way better, it has doors, better fuel efficient, has 2 doors and seatbelts at backseat, lesser engine vibrations, smoother suspensions, etc.
@TukTukPH
@TukTukPH 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I can't see the point of doors. They do nothing for safety as they are not thick enough to stop an impact and not tall enough to stop a child from falling out. In fact, having doors is more likely that a passenger will not hold their child. As for fuel efficiency, I don't believe the RE is better in fact from going on runs with a group of RE I find I am putting in less fuel than them, even though we have travelled the same distance at the same speed. True the suspension is a little bit smoother on the RE but the stiffer suspension on the TVS King means it leans less on corners allowing it to corner faster and less likely to roll over.

For us doors helps a lot for safety, my passenger is senior who sleep at travel and it prevent my passenger for falling of because of doors. If it has no doors my passenger will surely fall of, seat belt also helps. As for fuel efficiency I think the reason why my tvs is not as good is because the body is heavier and only single-spark. Yes harder suspension has advantages on speed and cornering but for us we need smoother suspension more because my passenger is an old senior citizen and can't take the violent rough roads.

@@asuntodavid2720 If your senior is only 3 feet tall the doors will stop him from falling out. If he is of average height he would just fall over the top of them. I have seatbelts in my TVS King they cost me 350 peso each and are the roller type so are far better and give better comfort than the ones in a Bajaj. As for fuel efficiency, if you really do have a TVS King if you are not getting better fuel consumption than the RE it will be down to one of a few things, it could be you are driving it the same as you drive a Bajaj, the TVS King would be driven very different to a Bajaj, the higher more modern engine means you go up the gears sooner, which means it gives better fuel efficiency. The next reason could be you are using the wrong grade of oil, modern high-performance engines like the TVS King use lower velocity oil, the next could be using the wrong grade of gasoline, if you use a lower grade than recommended then it will not be so fuel-efficient. If you do all the above it will be more fuel-efficient than the Bajaj I have tested it and proven it. As for twin spark plugs engineers proved many years ago that on engines with a bore of less than 400cc there is no advantage of twin spark plugs. As for comfort I am a senior and have travelled in the back of all the three-wheelers and comfort-wise I rate them in this order, Piaggio is the most comfortable, TVS King is second and Bajaj third.

You'll never know the use of doors because you don't have it. It really add safety specially preventing legs and knees to went outside that cause accident, and many more. We have roller foam attach on buit-in seatbelts so it's comfortable either, buying and installing seatbelts is hassle. Can you give me article or trusted website about your claim twin-spark is useless on 400K & below, I would love to learn. Yes tvs king is a bit comfortable than bajaj re because seat is a bit bigger but tvs is rougher on rough roads because of hard suspension. Overall both have advantages and disadvantages, it will depend on the taste of buyers.

@@asuntodavid2720 With over 5 million kilometres and 49 years of driving experience in 9 countries, plus attending safe driving courses, defensive driving causes, a certificate of international road transport and attending courses in dealing with accidents, plus seeing thousands of accidents I assure you I do not need to have doors to realise that flimsy low doors do little or nothing for safety. What I do know is that a huge amount of accidents are caused by people opening vehicle doors and as your passengers lack the common sense to keep legs and knees inside while you drive you should watch them very carefully when they open your doors. As for you claiming buying and installing seat belts is a hassle, it took me about 3 clicks of a mouse to buy them and they were delivered to my house, it then took 10 minutes to install them no drilling was needed as the holes are already there.

Buying TVS is a lazy choice, aftersales is the problem, rare spareparts, no service center here in Davao city Philippines.
@TukTukPH
@TukTukPH 3 жыл бұрын
Who told you that? I know of many resellers of TVS parts in Davao, and I know that TVS hire mechanics in Davao. Here in Luzon Tuk Tuk gives European style aftersales of a standard never seen before for three-wheelers in the Philippines. What other companies that sell three-wheelers do the OR/CR in 3 to 7 days? That is how much we care about customers.

I have owned both a TVS King and a Bajaj, there is no difference in fuel consumption. In fact on this run which was part of a 128km run we filled them up at the same filling station and the TVS King only used 1 Philippines peso more than the Bajaj RE. If you are only getting 23 to 25km out of a TVS King you are probably making the mistake of driving it the same as a Bajaj RE. Because the TVS has max torque at low end it needs to be driven in a very different way to a Bajaj.
