Educational purposes only. Anybody can sue, but the real issue is whether a case has merit to the claims alleged. By releasing the song "live up to my name," Baka became a public figure. The defamation standard of proof is much higher (actual malice and reckless disregard) when you are a public figure vs a regular person (ordinary negligence). Generally, it's challenging to satisfy. In addition, Dot only mentioned that he had a weird case, which is readily provable based on court filings, even though it was later dismissed due to a lack of cooperation allegedly by the complaining witness, to my understanding. Even if Sloppy tries to sue Dot for defamation, an opinion is a defense. In this case, there's a basis (e.g., the May 2010 Colorado concert, some of Sloopy's questionable lyrics, and implicating comments from people). All of these give a basis for Dot to formulate an opinion based on the allegations raised in "Not Like Us."
