After listening to the original and this multiple times, I just realized that A LOT of lines sound almost exactly the same in Japanese. Kodomo - I show no Yume wo - You may know Kidzuite - Kid whose ran away (kid slurred into whose to sound even more similar) Uso ga - And who got heta na kuse ni - hurt while chased his dream (lengthened "while" and muted the "L" to match na) Waraenai - I know in a way I love you mo - I love you more roku ni iwanai - could even describe (lengthened "scribe" and muted the "B" even more similar to iwanai) Kuchibeta ne - Couldn't even say (he pronounced couldn't as Kuh-dint even to match the cadence) Na no ni, na no ni doushite - I know we, I know we walked away (walked lengthened to match doushite) Dame Da ne - Time and Again (the unaccented "me" and "and" followed by the accented "Again") Dame yo - I'm a fool Anata Ga - All that I got (pronounced "I" as "ah") Dore dake - Knowing I can't (pronounced "I" as "ah" and lengthened the "can't" while muting the "n't") Yugamanai - All the memories (accented last syllable of "memories" to match "nai" It doesn't look like all of these sound the same just by reading it, but when you listen to the OG Bakamitai, it really does. All this fits WAY too much to be a coincidence. To do it this way, while making the words match the original's cadence and pronunciation, WHILE keeping the almost the exact same meaning? This is some GALAXY BRAIN level translating holy shit.

I try to stay faithful to the story of the song, but a the same time I want to make sure the sounds of the original are kept as much as I can. There's a reason they wrote it using the Japanese words they did, I think it'd be rude to not try and stay true to as much as possible. Lot of folks just rewrite the translation and make whole new lyrics with different sounds, but it ends up sounding like a completely different song haha. Glad you enjoyed it!
