A solo mage in theory but not being able to ring proc makes him lean into a heavily supportive role as opposed to another mage adc. Really like support but a bully! Everyone is always expecting every new god to have a big cc immune global ult better than the last. When your kit starts fucking with game data numbers like reduce opponents damage output by 20% , all the time. it’s like ok I’m winning this game .

As much as I want big names like Demeter, Nephythys, and Guan yin, and medium names like Hestia, Hi-Rez's ability to take mythological beings that don't even have a picture on their wikipedia page and turn them into fleshed-out characters with unique mechanics and visuals that don't seem made up out of thin air, is extremely admirable. For example, when you look up "bakasura" smite is the first thing that pops up, that's crazy Now if I had to choose between random person that three people know or Hestia and Demeter to round out the 6 first Olympians, I know what choice I would make, but that's just me

I bring a sort of "any god I want" vibe to the duo lane that the "ADC on my team" doesn't really vibe with But honestly: I'm not even gonna bother trying to play this guy in supp, he's easily worse than Jorm there Absolutely adore this design and I genuinely appreciate that they're focusing on making guardians with more interesting kits and AA interactions, but its a lil bittersweet that I'm not gonna be able to bring him into my actual role He'll probably be at least playable in mid or maybe jg tho, I have a fire Sylvanus mid build that he'll probably use well if he can proc shamans

I know Hi-Rez was trying to get away from haste in basic kits so I'm really surprised to see it in a passive. He is going to be really strong and very disruptive.

i love him. his whole kit is “im here, do something about it” and it forces a reaction. since he’s AA focused he’ll dish out solid damage so you can’t ignore him. he’s a guardian who stacks AND GAINS protections so killing him won’t be easy. if you CC him you do less damage to EVERYONE so he’s just a massive dickhead and i love it

Hmm... early laning phase seems great with great clear, but I bet he falls off lategame and becomes ult-bot or reposition-bot. Seems like being close is his strength, so Blink seems important, as well as synergy with slows, and not getting countered by knockbacks.

Because its supposed to be the same debuff Olorun inflicts when you get caught in his ult iirc. I don't think it'll start off as aggressive as Olo's but i think it gets even more problematic if you let yourself get enough ticks of the effect. (Note: I might not be reading how the debuff works 100% accurately so take the second sentence with a grain of salt.)

I see the point of this guy kit is annoying his enemies with his auto but I am not sure he's a lane bully because his auto doesn't proc item effect. I feel like his design is underwhelming and revolves too heavily around the whole basic attack thing, especially seeing as I can't directly build into the basic attacks at all, so all the traditional basic attack items like the rings and manikins are completely useless on him. I feel like his gameplay is going to devolve into this one dimensional play style where I am just left clicking all game with no real impact or gank potential. I'll give him a shot of course when he comes out, but other than the visual design elements I'm not really a fan right now.

I'm sure he'll have gank potential, but he just doesnt seem all that interesting outside of his gimmick. Basic cone ability, basic dash, a buff. Not much unique about his autos other than its an AoE pulse around him, it gets bigger when in buff sure, but its gameplay looks very simplistic.

Well yeah. He's designed to stay on top of enemies and flop down on them over and over again, building tank items for survival and converting those protections into extra damage that can hit multiple targets at once. The haste effect lets him chase and auto-attack without slowing down, his dash gives him a gap closer and a strong disable and positioning tool, and his ult is a massive AoE slow with a damage buff on the side. Incredibly straightforward and simple.

@@youtubeguy4989 It's not just about being simplistic but it looks like it won't even be a fun gameplay loop with this character like, there's nothing that makes him stand out or anything in his kit that makes me think "Oh I want to try that", the last two guardians, Charon and Maui both had aspects about them that immediately got me interested in what they could do, the maui pulls and the ult and his basic attack mechanics immediately got me hooked on the design, Charons whole thing which ranged basics and a massive AoE global ult, they both offered something game changing and appealing both visually and mechanically. This god just.. flops around, it's like the smite equivalent of a Goldeen or Magikarp, I was immediately underwhelmed when I seen him in action.. which sucks because I was so hyped on the aesthetic and lore of this God, only to be really let down when I seen what he was all about in the gameplay reveal during the patch notes today.

This has all the ingredient of a god that Inter will hate within months. Intentionally designed to be low skill floor + strong laning like Jorm prob means he’s going to be a brick wall in lane that negates any form of interaction.

Needs to be about 50% larger in my opinion. Other than that I’d say he’s the most unique God in the game come time of release. I love his design, and could imagine some crazy skins for him already. Pretty much any giant sea monster; The Kraken, Mageladon, Killer Whale, or even made up monsters. Can’t wait to play. Again just wish he was larger, I mean he’s a whale lol.

Interesting. He gains basic attack damage for defense items. If u put attack speed items on him he moves slower. If you hit an enemy with basic attacks you get your basic attack damage movement penalty removed by 50%. So you would want at least 2 attack speed defense items and rest raw stacking defense? That the play?

He doesn't actually move slower. It just reduces the movement speed penalty you experience while attacking.

Not exactly. The movement penalty he’s talking about is the slow you get when you use a basic attack. The attack speed items reduce that penalty, they don’t make him slower. The 50% reduced penalty comes with his first ability and it stacks with the attack speed items. So let’s say that you have 50% attack speed, when you basic attack you’ll be slowed only for half its normal value but if you use your 1 you won’t be slowed when you basic attack.

At least for me, design wise, I just don't understand his ult at all. I don't feel like there's a good lore reason for it to be there, it just doesn't make sense and I feel like it's underwhelming and does not belong.
