There’s a team every year that the media counts out before the season even starts, but then goes and makes the playoffs. Lots of talent here and they are playoff tested. If we get good QB play the division is ours.

@@AwesomeFinish If you know your Bucs history then you know they were an expansion team in ‘76 back when there was no supplemental draft or any assistance and their owner was horrendous. You really can’t count the years pre alignment and since the Glazers took over they average a SB 10yrs or so. Not bad, the Bucs the last 25yrs have done more than most teams in 50.

I like that the two QBs are competing and there is no clear winner, but I feel like Trask earned the spot. He was drafted and spent 2 years working with Brady. It really all boils down to the O line. You can stick an average QB back there and if you keep him off the ground he will get the ball out there. If he is pressured and sacked all the time then it's going to translate into injuries and team losses.

This just came out today. Mayfield in camp has thrown 7 interceptions, Trask has thrown 1. If Canalis is going by protecting the ball as he said, then Mayfiled is in trouble. The difference is that while Trask is checking down and throwing shorter completions, Mayfield (as he has throughout his career) takes chances and throws occasionally into double coverage. They also said Mayfield has completed more passes downfield while Trask checks down. It is why you see in this video the occasional long pass from Mayfield, but you don't see any from Trask. Their styles are vastly different - it depends what the Bucs are looking for. Do they want the guy who takes chances going downfield, or the guy who protects the ball?
