Im a Bucs fan and Im not gonna lie, i didnt expect much from him after his destroyed shoulder and everything hes gone through the last few years. But what I have to say is that you can think hes not "the guy" but he puts everything he has on that field and Ive gained ao much more respect for him in watching the way hes played and the way he leads the Bucs. Being a Browns fan for my whole life I grew up knowing we sucked. I'm only old enough to really appreciate 2011 till now and all I knew was losing, every single year. Baker is what changed it, it was so amazing to see the Browns and they looked competent and they would win games! I loved Baker and truly felt he was like Josh Allen, a project QB who needs time and support. When he got hurt in 21, I have to believe they knew for somehow someway we could never win a superbowl with him. Always good, never great, is the worst place to be stuck. So we let him die out there, even though we had Case Keenum who isn't perfect but is a good game manager and we still threw Baker out there. We did him so wrong. I wanted him to have one more year to prove it. Hope he keeps killing it down there in Tampa. When Baker is locked in, healthy, and confident, he is a Top 10 QB and I will stand by that. He is head and shoulder above danny dimes who is getting 40 million a year may I remind you.

Simple. Greg Williams, for all his faults and foibles, had the Browns headed in the right direction and Mayfield comfortable, confident, and playing well. Politics reared it's always ugly head in Cleveland who canned Williams and it all went south. Glad to see Baker in a seemingly good place again.

Much more important than that was losing Dorsey. He was a great talent evaluator, just look at Detroit now, and Baker's biggest ally. Of course Dorsey made a huge mistake hiring Kitchens, so I mean he kinda dug his own grave. But it put Baker on thin ice with Stefanski and Berry, since he wasnt the guy they picked.

Especially after he reinjured it getting pulled down by Watt against AZ. I get it at 3-1 leaving him in, even if they beat Minn in spite of him and it was obvious he couldn't throw right. But they were 3-1, and in the next week he had a great game against the Chargers (a game the refs stole from the Browns. So again, they were still winning and should have won that game. But then he got smashed again in another losing effort against AZ, and looked bad again (except the insane Hail mary to DPJ). Once he couldn't play on the short week and they went to Keenum, that's when the organization should have just made the decision for him.

I’m a Texan Fan but since his College Days I’ve always been a fan of Baker Mayfield. His smack talking & play that backs it up is really exciting. The Brown Clowns dropped the ball by letting Mayfield go & then paying Watson that ridiculous contract that will never pay off.. I think Tampa Bay lucked out getting Baker & they’ll be contenders for years to come if their Core Group stays healthy. After the Texans I’ll be rooting for Tampa Bay. Byron calling plays & Mayfield slinging the leather is a serious threat to any team!!

The greatest thing about him coming to Tampa, they invest in their guys and treat them well. Licht doesn’t just draft on skill, he drafts on character. There’s a culture of down to earth winners in the Bucs locker room which is the best place baker can be.

It's not unfair because those positions have more responsibility in the game though all positions have points where they can fail the entire team, the coach and the qb have more of those points, by far, so that is why the majority of people naturally point to those two things, instead of going straight to the left tackle giving up pressures or sacks.

Pat was wrong about the steelers not feeling back for the browns when the team left. Real rivals do not want that. The Browns last game before leaving was in Pittsburgh and the steelers crowd gave the browns a standing ovation and Pittsburgh's owner was one of 2 that voted against the move
