Bakery-Style Butter Cookies

Butter cookies - yum! When I was little in Chicago, the bakery owner's wife would let me choose a cookie every time we visited for fresh bread. I always chose a butter cookie or sugar cookie with a spot of strawberry jam in the middle! Lovely childhood memory of the 50's!
