I have blackberry bushes all along the back of my property which backs onto a forest. I picked as many as I could, froze them and I will make jam from them. I will eat it with homemade scones and homegrown peppermint tea. 😋

This video was magical!!!! I have to confess I absolutely love sunflowers 🌻 I bought seeds this year that were advertised 25 feet’s high. I have to say they hit about 20 feet and are beautiful. Wow that food looks delicious 😋 Unfortunately I’m celiac so any grain that has any type of gluten is out for me. 😳The only on grid power I have is electricity, the rest is off grid. I’ve never lost power for a week in my cottage thank goodness but I have lost it on the odd occasion for a day during Winter. Fortunately I have gas from bottles for cooking and I have a fire place (I keep a stash of firewood for these occasions). Also I was still able to cook, make a cup of tea and keep warm. My water comes from a lake and a Spring on the property where I live so I still had water albeit very slow flowing as the pump runs off electricity so I had to switch over to the Spring tap which isn’t pumped, it’s gravity fed. Candles and book reading is on the agenda too when the power goes out. The slower pace of cottage living suits me to a T😉
