I'm a Bible Baptist, a PK, actually. But the argument that says: John the Baptist is a Baptist and since he baptized Jesus, then He is a Baptist as well is wrong. Obviously based on the argument that if you were baptized by a Catholic, then you're a Catholic; if you're baptized by an INC, then you're an INC member. But I found this to be somewhat erroneous because to say that Jesus is a Baptist just because a Baptist baptized Him, then that means that there is already a Baptist religion BEFORE even Jesus built the church! Notice: 1. Jesus was the founder of the church. 2. If John the Baptist is a Baptist, then do you mean he already is a member of the Baptist church? 3. If your answer is YES, then why would he be a member of the Baptist church when the Bible tells us that Christ built the church AFTER John, NOT BEFORE John. So obviously, a "YES" answer is wrong. 4. If your answer is NO, then you're saying he's not a Baptist. This is the problem that I have with this argument. So I don't buy it though since I was a kid I've been told that same argument over and again, but now that I have thoroughly thought about it, it just doesn't make sense. The meaning of Baptist is in a greek word "BAP-TIS-TACE" means "Baptizer" John called the Baptist, because he is a baptize,r his ministry is to be Baptize. God gave authority to John. And every people baptized by him had authority to Baptize. Look at this passage John 3:22 John 3:22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized. The first subject is Jesus.. Patrick Padilla Jesus is our Sacrificial Lamb or Atonement for Salvation not Denomination including Independent Baptist so therefore his Salvation that he offer is for all of us so therefore Salvation is not based on Religion or even denomination. Remember Religion or denomination are by man so therefore there is no perfect church. And Jesus came here on earth for all the sinners not for all the saints, religious person including Baptist.The relationahip of Jesus Christ is more important than to become a Religious Person.

John Smyth and Thomas Helwys fled to Holland from England dahil sa mga persecutions na narereceive ng mga ibang religious practices that time dahil kay Queen Mary ( the bloody mary) thats why these two guys fled to Holland to find refuge. Dun na meet ni John Smyth and Thomas Helwys yng mga menonites from Anabaptists descend na same ng conviction ni smyth when it comes to the position of Baptism. Si Prophet John po ay tinawag na Baptist kasi siya po ay nagbabautismo sa Tubig nung kapanahunan niya, no where in the Bible sa siya lang ang may karaapatang magbaptize. In fact, yung mga Apostles nagbaptized din in Book of Acts. Point 2: Yung mga alagad ni John the Baptist na nabautismuhan ay ni-REBAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS in Acts 19:1-5 by Apostle Paul. Why? dahil yung baptism ni John ay hindi naperform in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ or in the Name of the Lord Jesus. References: Acts 2:38; Acts 8:16; Acts 10:44-45; Col. 3:17; Acts 4:12 Point 3: Yung mga alagad ni John the Baptist ay nakareceived ng Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Kaya kung kayo po ay claiming that you came from Prophet John, dapat po kayong irebaptize in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and to received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Assuming that the Congregation or Church established by Jesus is called the Baptist but, the disciples or people baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit in the Church were called later as Christians [new testament or dispensation] in Acts 11:26. This is in the same context that Abram to Abraham or Jacob to Israel because the covenant [old testament or dispensation] they received from God. Christians or Baptists?
