Yep same here. Tsaka it becomes a shouting contest. Though, I know why it goes like this. Had my experience of participating in one of these in my hs years and it's honestly nerve wracking lalo na may audience. Kung mapapansin mo may times na they'll talk so fast and sira yung pacing nila to the point na they run out of breath. Adrenaline kasi. Arguing is hard enough, arguing in front of a crowd where you can get instant feedback, whether positive or negative, to your statement is another beast entirely. Upon watching this, natuwa ako kasi napag-usapan yung natural law. I am not against same-sex relationship or marriage. Natural law could be anything based on our views. Pwedeng ang Natural Law for us could be Male to Female because it promotes reproduction and also follows what the Bible says. But Natural Law could also mean being honest as to how you feel, lagi kong naririnig sa LGBTQ Peeps na kilala ko yung feeling na na-trap sila sa katawan ng opposite sex and they wanna be honest about themselves and how they feel. Natural law is like beauty, it bases itself solely on how the each and everyone of us sees it. Thus, making it vary from one person to another. As for marriage, it will also vary from one belief to another. As for the Christian sects, they are divided as to how to react into it. some knows that it is still female to male, some now accepts different types of relationships. another one analogy to this is the number of wives a Christian and a Muslim can have. It varies from religion to religion. Natural law varies from person to person, religion varies from sect to sect. Marriage is subjective because it varies from one belief to another. nawa'y mapansin tito pao HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA dami kong sinabi di naman bayani

@aestheticjedi18682 жыл бұрын
Roe v Wade itself was a shenanigan, a lot of justices (even progressives like Ruth Bader Ginsberg) are baffled that Roe V Wade was approved even though abortion is not within the grounds of the constitution itself, so it's the fault of the legislative branch for not making a federal(the entirety of the US, because state constitutions exist) constitutional amendment specifically for abortion. Even if gumawa sila ng federal law, eventually magiging unconstitutional siya via the supreme court. Yes, it is complex and the decision on which period and cases where abortion is legal will be given back by the respective 50 states (meaning each state can have their own laws). I highly suggest watch the Roe v Wade video by America Uncovered. Just want to put this comment for anyone wondering WTF is going on in the US.

[Copied from my reply to another comment. Just wanna hear people's thoughts on my opinion.] Imho, my main concern is how the norm will change. Children go through a very fragile and impressionable part of their lives. Now, wala sanang issue generally. But the concern comes up when transitioning or sex change comes into play. It's not unheard of, documented pa nga even, na may mga taong ni-regret yung process. Years after transitioning they only realize who they really were. What's their reason for wanting to transition in the first place? I don't know. Why did they change their minds? I don't know either. I'm just concerned that by legalizing same sex marriage, same sex relationships will become more of a norm, that may lead to more of the young being put in the same situation. Of course it all boils down to parenting din naman. How well you supervise and inform your kids about such things. But it adds another layer of concern. Parenting is as hard as it is, imagine trying to provide guidance to your kids about such a complex topic without shifting their views too far to one side risking them to make harsh decisions that they may regret. One could argue din na it would be easier if parents have time to do their job at home in raising kids, but we all know most families need to have both parents working in order to provide at least 3 meals a day. So then systematic poverty comes to play naman. Walang time ang parents to be parents at home. It's just a bunch of prior issues na di pa natin naayos dito sa pilipinas, that may affect how well drastic changes can be implemented into the culture. US has a bit of a luxury because they're honestly way better off than us, generally speaking. My main point I guess is that, there's nothing wrong with legalizing same sex marriage. It's just that we, as a country, aren't ready yet. It may take time, but we need to iron out things first. And tbh poverty is the main most pressing concern. If only people can live life without worrying what to eat tomorrow, maybe we as a community will have more time to be educated. Less ignorant people, more open minded citizens. Change will be easier to apply.

I also think the same about divorce, if you're married in the church where you swore to the god that you will never leave your partner then divorce should not be possible but if you're just married in papers, then it is fine. The Philippines would only become a true state the moment it could acquire the ability to separate the church(or any religious institution/group) from its state. Separating both from eachother would be very hard considering the natural upbringing which most Filipino/Filipinx have, most of us grew up in a strict religious household and only a few are brave enough to be atheists and agnostics. Back to the main topic, the Philippines is long away from being able to call itself a true state due to how closely knit religion and the law is. Most political candidates' campaign strategy relies on winning over religious groups such as the church(christians, catholics, INC) and/or muslims. I find it funny how most people recognize the importance of being able to separate the church from the state due to its implications such as that religion is based on morals, which is very subjective, while the law on the other hand doesn't dwell with such intricacies because of its objective nature, but seeing that most people elected into offices or into senate swear on a bible or a quran is just so funny because why swear on those things instead of just swearing to the people or some sort of moral code which I presume would exist in law in some sort of form. It just comes off as stupid how they are blatantly merging the state and the church. The law is made, implemented, and evaluated for the people and not for the religious groups they are in, the law should not be able to see color, race, and what religious group you associate with, but hey, the scenario in which the state is truly separate from the church or any religious institution is just some sort of fantasy that is only true in some sort of different dimension utopia for the Philippines. The Philippines has a lot of problems, with this issue being one, but there are many more that we as a country need to fix.

From a historic point of view. Marriage predates every religion, thus; the concept of marriage didn't sprung out of it. Tayong mga tao lang din ang nag sabing ang ama ang mag tatrabaho para sa pamilya, poprotektahan ang pamilya, ang nanay ang mananatili sa bahay, ang magaalaga sa anak. well in fact, na based on a recent study by the World Health Organization (WHO), Philippines has about 15 million solo parents, 95 per cent or more than 14 million of whom are women. Ang punto ay, ang pag imitate or duplicate na sinasabi ng partidong ito, ay matagal nang ginagawa at ginagampanan ng nakararami lalo na ng mga magulang na mag-isang tinataguyod ang Pamilya. genuinely confused. if pabor ang isang tao sa same-sex relationships, why disagree with same-sex marriage? i don’t get why people say this kasi it contradicts itself. just say you disagree with the movement and move on... marriage the intimate binding between people. the ultimate form of showing your devotion to the person you love. it’s expressing your relationship with the person and taking it to the next level. by doing this, you’re also legally recognized by the government as a married couple. why should it only be reserved for the cishets? if pabor ka nga, then support their most basic rights. marriage. its as simple as that.

Yep. When they run out of arguments, they all just default to "That's what the Bible says!" The Bible also says a lot of things that aren't true. Or even outright evil. Like slapping women for interrupting two men talking. Or enslaving enemies and violating their women. Using it as the ultimate moral compass is problematic at best. 8:35 "You cannot turn a moral wrong into a civil right." Except, we already did that with the right to self-defense (Article 11). It is morally wrong to kill someone, but what if the person that you killed was actively trying to kill you? Morality mirrors the society that it inhabits. What's morally right for someone can be considered as morally wrong for someone else. Infanticide in Ancient Sparta is considered morally right if the baby was deemed as "unfit" or unhealthy. During the times of the Roman Empire, it is considered morally right to conquer foreign lands and subjugate and enslave non-Romans. Hell even ancient Romans view homosexuality as "morally right" as long as they assume the "Dominant role" in the relationship. 8:53-9:35 "The purpose of 'True Marriage' between a male and a female is to provide a normal, stable, affectionate, loving, and moral environment for the children." What if the household that the said marriage produced is the exact opposite (ie. abusive, and dysfunctional)? Does the purpose marriage suddenly looses its meaning? What if the same-sex couple are able to raise a child in an optimal environment? Can their relationship now be considered as "True Marriage"? Or are you trying to imply that same-sex couples are unable to raise child? "I believe that the purpose of same sex marriage is the personal gratification of two individuals to have their rights. It's not about the children because to purpose of marriage is about procreation." Bro whut!? Personal gratification and rights already comes with the whole concept of marriage itself! Why do you think there are people out there who are proud to be husbands/wives. Why do you think you have people who are over the age of 50 out there marrying someone who are as old/or even younger than their kids (Bossing X Pauleen)? Is that not personal gratification and within their rights as a couple? What if the male/female in a relationship is sterile/infertile? What if both are incapable of having kids? Are they not allowed to be wed to one another? WTF is this guy talking about? "And of course, same sex marriage is against the natural law." Bruh, the concept of marriage itself is "against the natural law". Imagine being tied to someone for the rest of your life when you can just move on to the next person and plant your seed in them. Evolutionary biology dictates us to have as many partners as we can to increase our chances of passing our genes to the next generation. As a male, the META is impregnate as many woman as possible while if you are a female the most effective strategy is to hop on to the next dick to increase the chances of being pregnant. Speaking of "Natural Law", did you know that homosexuality is a natural occurring phenomenon? About 90% of Giraffe couples is between a big, dominant male and a smaller and younger male. Penguins, Walruses, and Seals are also seen engaging in same sex albeit in a very predatory and rapey kinda way. Gay lions are also a thing. Sometimes outcast male lions would form hunting groups with other outcasts male lions and would also do the deed with each other. Really gives a whole other meaning to "Gay Pride". I am done for today. Naubos na braincells ko trying to make sense of this guys points and arguments.

The first argument is questionable. There are unions between opposite sexes na hindi makapagcreate ng tao, is he saying na invalid 'yung marriage na yon at nibreak pa rin ang natural law? Sa second argument ng opposition, yes, church and state should be separated, that's why we shouldn't create laws based on what the "bible" says. Moreover, no one says that they should be married under the supervision of church or priest. An attorney or city mayor can do the ceremony and acknowledge the union of the same sexes.

My answer to Rom rebuts about article 1 and 2 in Family Code is that... Our law itself is nakakabit sa bible. When they're making laws, they also look for the bible just to make it in the 2nd to 3rd readings, well in fact, RELIGION should separate from STATE (it is written on our law) but, we clearly see na law is always backing up with bible pa rin. Even our 1986 or 1987 constitution, naka-base pa rin sa bible. Hindi natin ramdam 'yong sinasabi na RELIGION is separate from STATE kasi napakarami pa ring mga rights ang nananatiling hindi kasama sa batas.

@pristinxx83242 жыл бұрын
I think, most people are in contradiction for same-sex marriage because it's a godless action. Same as abortion, people conclude it as immoral, (which they've construct into their beliefs). And we have different perspective and practices over "morality" so how will we agree over such controversial topic if our definition for morality is different? Also, if you erase "religion" into such debate, it will be pointless. Because that's the integrity that that they're trying to uphold; which is one of the primary reasons why most Catholics and Christians are not in agreement. Point is, it's difficult to rationalize a rule. Why are people so obsessed with such topic? Why are Christians and Catholics against it? Why do the LGBTQIA+ wants it? Because of our different perspective on morality, there's a boundary or a line that makes us different in on a society. The opposition are against because being a God-centered man (ethical man) and being a Man-centered man (aesthetical man) is the bottom line. Whereas, the LGBTQIA+ society wants the same-sex marriage to be legalized because humans have free-will. We are not all obliged to follow other's beliefs. To conclude (kapoy sabot), whether same-sex marriage will be legalized, our beliefs should remain to ourselves. Be it being a Christian, or even being a part of LGBTQIA+.

"You can't turn a moral wrong into a civil right." I saw someone (credits to them for their wonderful analogy) comment about a particular law which allows people to kill their spouses if they caught them in an act of cheating (specifically during the act of cantonan alam niyo na kung ano yan). It is also legal under the law to kill the person cheating with your spouse. Now if we examine the situation, is it really morally right to kill someone? Is taking a life an adequate or fair toll for cheating? Evidently, the person from the video's quotation is very erroneous and is generally not applicable. Hope the next administration legislate same sex union. As a closeted bisexual guy, I'd love to see more acceptance to the LGBTQ+ community especially in our society. It's still breaks my heart that there are still people out there who ridicules and malign other people for having a different sexual preference than what is deemed to be "normal". There is nothing abnormal about loving a person. Romantic love should not be confined by the definition that only a man and a woman can experience.
@midnightgames89122 жыл бұрын
Aside from it being progressive, I agree on same sex marriage/civil unions because of the benefits that the couple will receive. As of right now, the family code only recognizes marriage between a male and a female. Because of this, all the provisions in the family code, like conjugal properties, unions/marriages, do not cover the LGBTQIA+ community. So, if same-sex couples have acquired properties over the years, they could not establish property arrangements since no law can cover it. the law regarding co-ownership can resolve that, but I think the provisions provided by the family code will bring more protection for the said couple.

More power po😊😊😊.

Sa akin ok lang ang same sex marriage pero under the law. Kahit pagbalik baliktarin and mundo hindi talaga makiki ayon ang religion beliefs sa same sex marriage. You can marry anyone one you want without any kind of approval of anyone or any organization as long as both of you are happy.

I can respect your opinions and disagree with it at the same time. People can actually work together even though we don't support each other's personal beliefs.

Respect is earned not given, if you have a shitty opinion people have all the rights to mock it. If the only way you can defend your views is by saying "respect my opinion" then you probably have a shitty one in the first place.
@humorm41522 жыл бұрын
@@kinskins1538 Using the same principle, I choose to "give respect first" so I can "earn it back". I don't need to mock you to prove the truth and sometimes what makes people believe you is not the data or the hard facts about it but the actions shown by the individual. The goal is to convince them not just disapprove someone.

@@humorm4152 I rather be right and disrespected than be respected for my shitty beliefs. There are people who don't see anything wrong with having relationship with a minor, do you respect those people's opinions as well? You shouldn't default to respecting someone's opinion especially if they couldn't even defend that said opinion.

@@humorm4152 In the case of opposing same sex marriage, are you really giving "respect" when you're actively preventing it from happening in the first place? People who say "respect my opinion" in a debate, aren't really hoping for mutual respect. What you are actually saying is "Let's keep the status quo which is what I actually wanted. F your opinion and f your facts."

Agree with same sex union to protect the right of each party. Example may napundar na silang assets then suddenly nag hiwalay.

The only reason why same sex marriage isn't already a thing is because the lgbt is because some people (not all) still have a closed mindset about the topic. Although we do have people that ARE open minded, but due to their beliefs they refuse the idea. Personally I do support same sex marriage, its a great way for people who love each other to have a union in a different way. Not only that, the benefits from being married will also help the minority which is the lgbt. Would appreciate other thoughts on this!

Imho, my main concern is how the norm will change.
@saggieyt2 жыл бұрын
@@idiosyncrasy7703 that's a really nice take. I agree with everything, everything pretty much boils down to little mistakes adding up. Being a parent if it is legalized WILL be so much harder. Tapos may poverty into play pa? Our country really isn't ready for these kinds of stuff
@idiosyncrasy77032 жыл бұрын
@@saggieyt kaya nga I honestly think we should approach this systematically. Ayusin muna yung pressing and glaring issues. I'm not saying na hindi importante yung rights and opportunities ng mga kababayan nating lgbt, but when more than half the country is living on one canned good a day, mahirap mainform yung public about the importance of such complex issues. Mas madaling mag pasa ng change if majority of the population is informed enough and has an open mind about it. Mas madali mo ma-eenforce and people would be more adaptive.

I think the government should provide everyone equal opportunities even in their preferred life partners. The catholic church will never accept it, but the government should provide the option to those who want to be married under our state.

This is my opinion about same-sex marriage: 1. IT IS CONSTITUTIONAL Article 15 of the 1987 Constitution never restricts marriage on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity. The reason why the framers didn't put "a man and a woman" is that it would make Presidential Decree 1083 or Muslim Code of The Philippines unconstitutional as it permits polygamous marriage (one man and many women) to Muslim Filipinos. If the Constitution is silent about the issue, Congress has discretion on what kind of enabling law to make it more effective, define it, and set its scope and other terms as they see fit. But it doesn't stop any people from challenging its constitutionality in court. 2. THE FAMILY CODE IS PRESUMED CONSTITUTIONAL UNTIL PROVEN UNCONSTITUTIONAL Although the 1987 Constitution is silent about gender, it doesn't stop Congress to define, limit and making a law about it. Hence, we can say Family Code is a valid exercise of discretion on the part of Congress. But there is a rule in Supreme Court that the law is PRESUMED constitutional unless the party challenging it presents substantial evidence and arguments that it is in fact unconstitutional. Sadly, there is no proper party with a proper case yet has filed any petition challenging the constitutionality of the family code. 3. HOMOSEXUAL CONDUCT IS LEGAL IN THE PHILIPPINES. I heard someone say, "you cannot make legal right what is morally wrong." That statement cannot be used against LGBT people, at least in the legal aspect. The Supreme Court ruled already that: "The morality in law is PUBLIC and SECULAR not religious." "The Philippines has NEVER seen fit to CRIMINALIZE HOMOSEXUAL CONDUCT under PUBLIC MORALITY." "LGBTs and their supporters, in all likelihood, believe with equal fervor that relationships between individuals of the same sex are morally equivalent to heterosexual relationships. They, too, are entitled to hold and express that view. However, as far as this Court is concerned, our democracy precludes using the religious or moral views of one part of the community to exclude from consideration the values of other members of the community." -Ang Ladlad LGBT v. COMELEC. GR # 190582
