a city of muslim majority country having such an european kind of art nouveau and baroque architectural trait I haven't seen before. Azerbaijan is the best example of a country where East and West intersects.

It truly is! Not only architecturally, but also culturally and demographically. There's is still a significant Russian (all the Slavs from the former Soviet Union really) minority in the city, as well as other smaller minorties. I'm not even counting Azeris who are in fact half-Russian/Jewish/Tatar/Armenian (yes, there are a lot of mixed Azeri-Armenian families left). Baku was truly a multiethnic city, probably the most multiethnic in the whole Soviet Union. Cheers! Hope to see you here as the borders open again! 😊🇦🇿❤️

Nothin Persian here, all buildings shown in the video are from the Shirvanshahs period or the Industrialism period. The Revivalism period architecture is very popular in Baku, nearly all buildings from 18th-20th centuries are heavily influenced by European architectural styles.

Azerbaijan has its own very special architectural style. Of course there's some oriental elements common to oriental architecture, but it's not Persian and even Turkish style is more different IMHO
