Yeah, that's the one problem I have with that scene. Gorem's presence was never explained other than the fact that now Julie's voice was "pure and sincere". But Marucho didn't do anything to be Preyas's brawling partner.

Gorem needed a partner with a true and pure heart that could match his. Julie wasn't true with herself and was to stubborn to admit her true and pure feelings of wanting a talking bakugan partner, which is why she couldn't see Gorem. It wasn't until she was honest with herself that she could see Gorem, whom was there the whole time trying to reach her. The show doesn't do a good job of explaining things but it does seem to have a reason for which bakugan partner team is made.

Also preyas is marucho's partner because unlike marucho, preyas is a free spirit and open to all which balances marucho's quiet and guarded personality. Each bakugan balances their human partner. Drago is straight forward and careful while Dan is hot headed and rash with his decisions. Tigrerra is calm and restrained while runo is reckless and extremely feisty. Shun is reserved and overly confident while Skyress is caring and relies on intellect.
