I miss the way battles were done in s1. The battles were about more than just powering up your bakugan. Gate cards were more diverse and played an important role in winning. With this season only one gate card gets set per round and it’s ALWAYS a reactor card. Not saying that I don’t like the battles in this season, but I do miss the strategic way of s1

(SPOILER ALERT) Yeah but in the next season when they all get the bakugan attribute energies from the ancient warriors of vestroia, they start using more gate cards than just reactors. While I agree with @lazaruswolf6668 that they were most likely using only reactors and only one gate card and one bakugan to save money on animation, I like to think of it as a more in universe reason being that the gate cards in Vestroia were only capable of utilizing reactors because it's the planet's energy only. It was only when Runo attempted to go to Vestroia that gate cards that were similar to the cards from S1 on Earth start dropping into Vestroia. I think to create the gate cards that are more strategic in nature, it requires the Energy from Earth and Vestroia to create.

It never made sense to me gow easily the Beta and Gamma dimension controllers are destroyed. In Alpha City, the dimension controller was set up to disperse the energy buildup and only overloaded once Dan sabotaged it by shutting the system down so the energy backed up. But in Beta and Gamma, all they have to do is battle, no sabotage required?
