I feel like spectra wasn't really interested in dan at the beginning. He was dead-set on getting drago from dan. He always glazed over when dan started talking and just concentrated on drago's powers . But, he started treating dan with respect after he got drago back from him.

Kinda of the same with masquerade. He just thought Dan was some average brawler with a powerful bakugan. However, he grew to respect Dan and respected him enough to help him at the end of the first season. (Yes I know it was Alice alter-ego but masquerade was willing to take over again and kept his side of the deal.)

Asad Egal I liked Alice more. Her character might not have been given as much focus as Shun, but it had heaps of potential. New Vestroia could've been a great oppurtinity to see Alice actually have some interaction with the whole group, and maybe grow closer to Dan & Drago along way, as if she felt guilty for Masquerade having sent them to the Doom Dimension. I know Shun's character is more applicable for a long-winded series like New Vestroia, but I always found Alice to have so much untapped potential and I'm still sad we saw so little of her.

Julian no matter what you say, subterra brawlers were very much expressed in S2.
