Lovely little town, Bala. When I was a kid my family used to have a caravan in Barmouth and, travelling from Cheshire, Bala was a nice little place to stop in for a bite to eat and a loo break! Haven't been back in many years, must go back one day!

One of my earliest memories took place in Bala... Bala Lake actually. In the very early 70's, my parents joined the Stone Aquarist Society (Fish Club) and one of their social events was to go camping in Bala. Pam & Ken really should have firmly pegged their new inflatable igloo tent before they pumped it up it as they wouldn't have had to chance it across the site when the wind took a fancy to it. Panic set in when John rolled his slalom canoe, only for hysterical laughter to break out as he slowly emerged, pipe and woolly had still in place, and eventually stand up only kneed deep in water! Don't think I've been back since. Thanks for sharing, and the smiles, keep'em comin' Cheers 🍺

Bala is not a village, it's a town, that's why it has a town council and a town hall.
