Watched it yesterday . Its a beautiful film . It makes me laugh throughout but also make me cried thrice. Once when saurabh shukla brings wig for his son (it makes me cry because I have lost the beautiful relationship with my father due to some stupid reasons ) . Second when Bhumi explains the pain , problem and how society behaves with her due to her dark skin to Ayushman (it makes me cry because I also suffering from ignorance, rejections from friends and society and get bullied due to my abnormalities.) And cried at the end of film and asked my self Why me .

The story of the movie was great, the acting was superb as well. But there is something that bothered me throughout the film... Its a bit hypocritical that the film chose to use a fair actress to play a dark skinned girl... if there are no dark skinned actresses in Bollywood (because everyone is white washed) why not then hold auditions for new talent that will fit the role, that would have shown equality and that everyone deserves a chance.... and the same goes for the character Bala.

I watched Bala today. Must say its a very well made film addressing a significant thought i.e Importance of Physical Appearance. Ayushmaan's comic timing & humor is very good. Bhumi's character & Yami's Character in the film are very realistic. The movie sends out a positive & simple message i.e Love yourself and Let people accept you for who you are and how you look. Saw the movie today at last.... I was once a fat guy...the society laughed at me at every step of my life. I was always bullied by my friends, my cousins... Even my girlfriend hated me because of my chubiness... I know over weight is bad for health... It's bad for a lot of things.. But society has set some norms regarding our looks, our dressing sense.. This movie made me realise I'm good as I am..now i have lost like 15 kgs... I know it's good for me... But that years of bullying, self loathing came to my mind & I shed a few tears at the end of the movie.. Thank you Ayushman for portraying such a character.. Whom every so called non perfect person can relate to.. Thank you❤️
