Singapore Level 3 artistic gymnastics balance beam routine
NorthStar Gymnastics Invitational provides a conducive platform for budding gymnasts to engage in friendly competition with their peers while showcasing their skills to the gymnastics community. NorthStar Gymnastics also hope to play a part in promoting the growth of the sport in Asia with an annual NorthStar Gymnastics meet. In 2019 we welcomed over 300 gymnasts from more than 20 regional teams to this 2nd Invitational. After a hiatus of two years due to the pandemic, the NorthStar Gymnastics Invitational is back this year.
Women's artistic gymnastics balance beam is a discipline within the sport of gymnastics. It is performed on a rectangular beam that is four inches wide and 16 feet long. The balance beam is typically made of wood or fiberglass and is elevated off the ground by four legs.
In a balance beam routine, gymnasts perform a series of acrobatic and dance movements, such as flips, turns, and leaps, on the beam. They are judged on their execution, difficulty, and overall presentation. A typical routine lasts for one minute and 30 seconds and includes elements such as leaps, jumps, and pirouettes, as well as more difficult skills such as back handsprings and aerial cartwheels.
Gymnasts must demonstrate a high level of balance, coordination, and flexibility in order to perform successfully on the balance beam. The discipline requires a combination of strength, grace, and precision, and is considered one of the most challenging events in women's artistic gymnastics.
