RTA has become "High risk, low reward"... you get punished for playing risky turn 1 teams with high rune requirements

Nyx is absolutely fine now, not op but the comparison made with other units are wrong. You forget that he aoe strips + stun (in despair) + has a strong and unique passive and now can cut, even if it's rng (like almost everything in the game btw... I don't like that either but we know what we play). In combination with other strong units, specially in arena defense or maybe siege defense, he will be at least a good unit. Not a Ragdoll tier but Ragdoll should be nerfed so we could be happy to do not have a new broken unit like him. In RTA, it's too rng or I guess there will have better picks but the buff is not that bad for defense contents. Maybe they will buff the % later if it's still too low but if they do, this is not a bad way to buff Nyx.

does anyone know how to do the math on the new vampire s2? can’t quite figure out the equation when it’s two 15% res checks and two 50% checks. i wanted to say (.5x.85)^2, but this would present the chance of both hits applying debuffs. theoretically, that means that (.5x.15)^2 should be the chance of both missing which is about .5%, but i’m actually not sure. i’m doing this all in my head (i don’t want to write/draw it out) so if someone is more diligent than me please lmk

What do you mean comparing nyx passive to ragdoll. In what world does ragdoll have a higher activation rate then 30%. 80% of the meta units have 15% crit . In those cases ragdoll has a 15% activation rate. The only scenario he has a higher activation rate is with the odd case of opponents playing 100% crit units . In the case of how the meta is with aoe strip pushback nyx has now the far better passive while strip cdreset in the kit.

@@Seiishizo I doubt it’s 50%.( I see lots of water angles , velajul , gapsoo , Oliver , sagar , even Seara/giana no longer on crit , haegang , vero ) the activation of ragdoll passive is on avg less then or equal of the 30% that nyx is getting . It is the same form of rng and not a 100% active passive vs a 30% one.

@@Seiishizo well we would need to take the position of someone who picks ragdoll. so he cant trigger himself. and a ragdoll usually doesnt get leo counterpicked either. And the velas i meet are 50/50 on crit or not , i dont use him at all. Juilianne only seems to have max crit on s2 , not on s1 usually and sonia is just 1 hit. so 1 time activation , while any aoe strip / def break etc ( if its how it will work) will have multiple chances to proc the 30%.

Am I crazy for thinking the Nyx buff is going to make it insanely strong? I have Ragdoll, and it’s a good unit. The rest of his kit does nothing but damage. Nyx can strip, reset cooldown, extend debuffs, and prevent you from receiving debuffs. Yes, it’s RNG, but if you thought a unit whose kit does nothing else was already good, how is this not better? I did the math. An aoe on 15% crit rate has a 48% chance of increasing opponent atk bar vs. Ragdoll. An aoe that applies just one debuff has a 70% chance of doing the same vs. Nyx. If it works like I think it will, that only goes up if the skill does more effects. Sure, not everyone runs minimum crit so say that closes the gap if you want. But even if you call these abilities a tie, the fact still stands that the remainder of Nyx’s kit is better than Ragdoll.

issue is there's very few comps with 15cr. especially in current meta. and even then it's common some units have some more than 15. but if you take the same argument you can also say nyx does nothing vs units like gapso fire monkey juno etc. nothing to boost. nothing to reset. Will lose every 1v1

@@Seiishizo are most strippers all not built on 15 crit? They’re set up units so even if ragdoll didn’t exist, it’d still be most efficient to not build any crit anyways. But let’s say on average you’re facing 25% crit for example sake- that puts it on par, at 70% odds of increasing atb, with new Nyx. And let’s even say the rest of their kits are also equal given usage in different situations. Then you are saying Nyx = Ragdoll, which is still a very good unit. The reason Ragdoll is so annoying is that there’s no way to turn off your crit rate. Similarly, there’s no way to stop your units from attempting to apply their debuffs. A majority of skills apply some sort of random debuff nowadays. I think we’ll have to wait and see how good it is in practice. But at least theoretically/mathematically, it’s either broken asf or just as good as a unit that’s been meta for the better half of a decade.

If nyx wasn't rng, it probably will be broken as f. This nyx buff will make her on everyday defense. Huge counter to nept or muiple debuff unit. It now will not make you receive buffs maybe, but it can easily give attack bar to boost the enamy team to take turn 1... Less debuff =better for you, but less debuff means fewer chances to land. This means 10% for debuff stoped

@@bronsonhale5582 i dont think she is forced into it at all. you can make her a nuker but you can also go with a bruiser style for rta, on a fast enough vio set it would only take like 3 turns for her to start ignoring most of the enemy defense. maybe even 100 depending on their speed. she needs to be 125 spd faster and in those 3 turns she gets 120. unlike the other ciris she basically wont need spd buff after a couple turns.

@@Glansius You can get cd through artifacts but I dont disagree that she needs more on the passive to fit more into a bruiser style. They are doing too much of an inbetween. If i had her though I would just go straight into spd cr hp on a vio build and get extra cd through artifacts. In an rta setting she will gain attack over time so not as necessary to get super high attack. For siege just spd cd atk to snipe things first turn. She also has pretty decent base stats. She doesnt need to snipe things out first turn in rta, she can play for longer games and take more turns over time and start sniping as the match goes on. Another benefit for her is her s1 spd scaling will keep getting stronger as the match goes on. Edit. Also that passive nerf needs to be reverted, it really wasn't even a little bit necessary or just make it spd scaling as well.
